Just my takes, because I'm bored.. TopDawgs top 5 super sleepers....(projections for future NFL stars that won't go in round 1) 1. Saahdiq Charles 2. Kyle Dugger 3. AmikRobertson 4. J.K. Dobbins 5. Jake Fromm (State Farm)...sorry. seems like it has to be said.
Dugger and Dobbins I can definitely see. Fromm is a complete wildcard. He’ll need the right team and surrounding cast. Robertson might be a really good nickel, but has a ways to go. The one I cannot get behind is Charles. I expected to like him when I turned on the tape, but I just couldn’t get there. I think the Von Millers and Bosas are going to embarrass him.
I like this idea 1. Michael Warren II 2. Tyler Johnson 3. Jeremy Chinn 4. Akeem Davis-Gaither 5. Donovan Peoples-Jones
It's possible. FWIW, those guys embarrass everybody they go against....Charles will be a stud if he can get it together from the neck up. He was the best lineman on the best unit in college football
Stephen Sullivan-Late bloomer hardly utilized at LSU. Easily more athletic than Moss. Hands jumped out immediately on tape. If he learns to block, sky is the limit. Jonah Jackson-I was talking to Tim about him already. Short arms scare everyone when it comes to linemen. But I watched 3 games on tape, against his better competition and he never looked overwhelmed to me. I think he could be a bargain for someone after pick 70. Raekwon Davis-Won’t be flashy, but could be a key piece of a defense. Michael Brockers, maybe better? Akeem Davis-Gaither- A mix between Deion Jones and Telvin Smith. The speed to cover and the instincts to tackle. Jeremy Chinn-Reminds me just a little bit of Darnell Savage coming out. He’ll need a bit of time to work out the pass defense part of the game. But when he trusts what he sees he looks as good as anybody playing the run. I would have given you my top five sooner, but I had to tiptoe around picking skill position players, because I’m in too many dynasty leagues with these fools. LMAO!! @LAOJoe @Tim @beachbum
With his mix of body type, ability to weave untouched in traffic and how he breaks when the ball is about to come out, I still see him better suited as a safety in the NFL. I really like the player and I wouldn't be surprised if he bumps up the board for the final round of scoring, considering I still have to go back and re-score his first round as a safety and not an LB.
For myself, it depends on where you are lining him up. At LB, I'm not sure he is going to be stout enough when he needs to be at the point of attack. That might render him a nickle package linebacker, which isn't a death sentence by any means considering teams are in sub-package far more than they are in their standard set. But as a box safety with coverage skills, Davis-Gaither could be the kind of player that never has to come off the field.
This is another good sleeper prospect. With even decent quarterback play to help show off his skills it's likely that Peoples-Jones would pop on video. And if he ever does take off as a pro they better refer to him as 'The People's Champ' and get him a championship belt to carry around to all of his press conferences, lol.
He feels more and more like a 'Matt Barkley' type. Sticks around in the league for a long time bouncing from roster to roster but just doesn't have enough tools to be anything more than a spot starter.
Dugger is going to get all kinds of chances to earn a starting job at safety but if he doesn't succeed there he is still going to be in the league for a long time as a chess piece for a defense. Could play some sub-package linebacker if called on and he definitely can make an impact on special teams. He's a solid bet to be a long term pro.
This is an interesting one, TD. Are you basing this on him being a tackle or just an offensive lineman?
