I was happy with the pick. I think this could be something special in the future, but Im also a glass half full kinda guy. Your right tho, He has tools, lets just hope they excel at the NFL level.
[6-13] Luke Wypler - Center. Makes sense. We have 4 QB'S. Now each of them can have their own center. Who needs linebackers, anyway.
My other interesting WR target was Andrei Iosivas from Princeton. I took him earlier and knew he would be a faller, but I didn't care. Big body WR with some speed who can put on an extra burst if he gets the ball in space. He's going to need some developmental time, but the upside on him is insane. I'll be watching him and rooting for him, @matthewwillson29 .
Yet another indication it’s a weaker than average class; the amount of Kickers and Punters drafted. I think we’re up to 4. Or is it 5, before we reach round 7. It’s not known as an especially strong Special teams class. But they’re getting snapped up in bunches
The 2023 draft has featured a whopping 41 trades. That’s a lot. It’s also a record. Yes, the ongoing draft already has set the record for the most trades during a single draft. The DiMaggio moment came when the Texans traded up with the Bills to pick No. 205 to take Iowa State receiver Xavier Hutchinson. And there are still more than 50 picks to go. Which means that the 2023 draft could set an even higher bar for the future. Trades happen because a given team has a player that it really wants, and that team decides to go get him. The number of trades speaks to the wildly differing assessments of the players, along with the concern that other teams might like a given player as much as the team that trades up to get him. PFT
Another indicator of a weak class. Teams are willing to move off of their pick because of a lock of coveted talent.
I think teams knew the Steelers would pick JPJ at 32. Heck, the whole world expected. Probably limited what they were willing to offer to move up. Why not just trade with the team at 33?
Just now have some time to take it all in. Now that Aaron is gone, Packers take 2 WRs and 2 TEs by the 5th round. Really funny! I heard someone else call it the Fu<k you Aaron draft, and that seems about right. LMAO
Even if it’s really the “please God, don’t let our new guy look like dogshit” draft, the first version is better
