I can finally sit down and comment. Falcons traded up and selected Matthew Bergeron, GUARD, Syracuse.
I told my brother if they traded up here it's one of 3 guys, Keion White, Cam Smith or Bergeron (and not Steen like he had). Told him I think it's probably the guard but it'll certainly be one of those 3.
Damn straight. GM went BPA in round 1, Falcons roster is just about full so he's hitting the major need in round 2. Did you notice that he's listed as a tackle but was announced as a guard? He's Atlanta's new starting left guard.
The fact Mel Kiper called C.J. Stroud a "head scratching move" means he is again cemented as the biggest idiot over paid to talk about something he knows less and less about every year.
I also feel really good now about having taken Levis for Tennessee in the mock. I took him in the first, so in theory I overpaid. But that one pick (#11) became Levis, Saquon Barkley, and a WR prospect later on. So I think I got more than reasonable value for that pick.
I'm glad to see Levis going to Tennessee in real life. Thinking about it during the mock, I couldn't come up with a better team for him. They have a pair of coaches on their staff (Pat O'Hara and Charles London) that put together should be amazing for him. London will work on teaching him the offensive system and how to read the defenses, and O'Hara will work with him on technique. Seriously, I don't think there's a better place that he could have landed.
