Browns claimed TE Keavon Milton off waivers from the Saints. A massive tight end prospect at 6-foot-4 and 293 pounds, Milton caught one pass for ten yards in New Orleans' preseason. The Browns will try to develop Milton as an in-line blocker behind Jordan Cameron and Gary Barnidge
Everton good to see ya in these parts . we are feeling pretty good about the direction the Browns are heading in . for once there is a plan in place leadership at the top .in a couple years LOOK OUT were back
I like Chud and Co. playing the roster game like a confident gambler, leaving the signing of a Kicker on the side to improve their bargaining position. I think he's right. We can get a Kicker Sun morning and tee it up. No, he won't be Phil, who we will inevitably miss, but of all the positions this one truly requires no great understanding of a system or chemistry with teammates. Let's see how his gambit plays out. There are much more pressing needs. I like the swagger today, but then I liked Rex Ryan when he first took over the Jets. That wore thin. I don't think Chud is that guy though, and like his caginess, holding onto his high cards to see if he can draw into a good hand.
Free agent K Dan Carpenter will work out for the Browns Tuesday. The Browns cut both Shayne Graham and Brandon Bogotay on Saturday, leaving them without a kicker on the roster. Carpenter will face competition in a Tuesday tryout, but he's the favorite to win the gig.
By Jamison Hensley, ESPN Teams traditionally sign players that they recently cut to make up their practice squad. Not the Cleveland Browns. The team announced it signed seven players to the practice squad, and only two were with Cleveland this offseason. Safety Jamoris Slaughter, a rookie sixth-round draft pick, and wide receiver Tori Gurley, who signed with the Browns in May, both returned. Here are the newcomers to the practice squad: wide receiver Jasper Collins (Miami), cornerbacks Kip Edwards (Buffalo), Terrence Frederick (New York Giants) and Julian Posey (Miami) and free safety Darius Eubanks (Minnesota).
With them signing Gurley to the practice squad, does this mean we are standing pat with 4 WR? Could this mean theyre going to use Jordan Cameron flexed out alot? There is very little time to add a skill position to this roster and expect them to be able to handle more than a few plays and/or develop any sort of rapport with Weeden.
