Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Notre Dame will contend for a national championship.

Texas A&M and Oklahoma were ranked Nos. 5 and 6 respectively. Texas A&M will play North Carolina in the Orange Bowl and Oklahoma will play Florida in the Cotton Bowl.

Alabama won the SEC championship over Florida by a touchdown Saturday night. Najee Harris led the team with five touchdowns and their opponents, Notre Dame will have a lot to contend with come the semifinal. Notre Dame lost to Clemson in the ACC championship game.

Ohio State, who only played six games, won the Big Ten title and will play Clemson, who won the ACC title. Clemson proved to be one of the best teams in the nation with their whopping victory over Notre Dame on Saturday. The Buckeyes needed a late surge to get past Northwestern.

Texas A&M just missed out on an SEC title berth and only lost to Alabama this season. Oklahoma won the Big 12 championship but have two losses this season.

I wouldnt be surprised if Zack Wilson goes early in the Draft... he lit it up last night.

Wilson threw for 425 yards with 3 touchdown passes and 2 rushing scores as No. 16 BYU routed Central Florida 49-23 in the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday night.

The good Justin Fields was back...

No. 3 Ohio State defeated No. 2 Clemson 49-28 in the Sugar Bowl, setting up a national championship game between two undefeated teams in No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Ohio State on Monday, Jan. 11. Ohio State's quarterback Justin Fields led the way, despite taking a brutal tackle to his ribs, as he stayed in the game and completed 22-of-28 passes for 385 yards and six touchdowns. Running back Trey Sermon was a standout, too, running for 193 yards and a touchdoown on 31 carries.

After finding itself in a 14-0 hole, Ohio State's defense forced three punts in a row and in the second half, the Buckeyes's "D" forced a fumble and an interception, plus another punt and a turnover on downs.

Despite reports that Ohio State’s football team is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, the college football national championship game is still on as scheduled.

Both Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith and College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock told ESPN that the Ohio State-Alabama game is still on for Monday night.

It is unclear how many players or coaches on Ohio State have tested positive or had to go into isolation for contact tracing. Unlike the NFL, where players are placed on the COVID-19 reserve list and their names are released publicly, in college football it’s often not announced until game day when a player isn’t going to play for reasons related to COVID-19.

Ohio State played just five games during the regular season because of COVID-19 cancelations, and head coach Ryan Day said before the Buckeyes’ semifinal win over Clemson that they were still not completely back to full strength.
