But why not? The MAC is not a 2-bit Conference anymore. Programs like NIU, Toledo and BGSU are very improved. Besides, Ohio State has a thing with playing the backyard MAC once a season... its a great generator for MAC schools revenues as lots of cash goes into the MAC for playing the Big Ten. The Buckeyes really are a power house and beat up on the MAC teams, But other Big Ten schools dont fair so well sometimes when they play a MAC school.
lots? how much is lots? BOWLING GREEN 10, OHIO STATE 77 Will, I am not picking on OSU bc you're a fan pal. They are known for playing a sub-par out of conf schedule and that's fine. I don't agree with ANY school doing it. Years ago when Tebow went to Florida, they played Div II school Florida A&M in November when other schools played tough games. I don't think it's needed or right. Revenue is 1 thing, but i wanna see how much does an ass beating in Columbus make for Bowling Green? How much is OSU giving them to kick their asses in? And ND plays Navy, which is a lifetime partner AND Army this year. I don't agree with that schedule. I'm embarrassed by it.
I understand where your coming from, but just about everybody does it except ND because they are independent. ND should have joined the Big Ten.
almost did in 2000 but then the strapper from Michigan ran his mouth and pissed off the ND President and now they will never join. My prediction is full ACC by 2020!
oh ND has laughers too like Nevada this week, but i still don't agree with it. i know those lesser schools need revenue but getting beat 70-0 isn't the way to go about it.
im sorry but how does unranked texas jumped to #11 after beating #10 ND at home in 2 overtimes? that's a jump of 15 spots and that's if they were #26? So ND was ranked #10, so what? They lost a ton of guys on defense and their line is swiss cheese. to jump 15 spots after only winning at home in 2 overtimes? they didn't beat #1 Alabama. they beat a #10 team. Wow. Never seen a team jump so highly after barely winning at home in not 1 but 2 overtimes. if ND wins, they barely move 2 spots not bc of their win, but bc LSU and OK lost.
yep and their other sports are all ACC now... i would rather ND be in the big 10 but since everyone else is jumping ship, the hell with it.
MAC, Big 12 suspends officiating, replay crew from Oklahoma St-Central Michigan The Mid-American Conference and Big 12 announced two-game suspensions for the officiating crew and replay officials from the Central Michigan-Oklahoma State game. The officials awarded Central Michigan one untimed down that should not have been granted following an intentional grounding penalty, which resulted in a crazy Hail Mary and lateral for a touchdown and a Chippewas victory. The refs noted after the game that the untimed down should not have been given to Central Michigan and the replay officials could have stopped the game to fix the referee's decision but did not. As a result, the MAC officiating crew and Big 12 replay officials will be both be suspended for two games, as announced by the conferences on Sunday. The two-game suspensions for the crews are equal to the penalty given to the ACC officiating crew that botched the ending of last season's Miami-Duke game.
refs are now suspended and admitted they made a mistake! OSU got cheated! take that! The Mac Attack revoked!
my question is - why was this wrong? why can't CMU get the ball there? OK ST had a turnover on downs. It was 4th down when this happened? Did the clock truly run out? I thought what happened was legal to be honest...
