Michigan and Ohio State both winners. Looking for Iowa to beat Stanford and go for the Big 10 sweep.

Most boring bowl season ever from a neutral standpoint.

Totally agree... I was not impressed.

It was 31-0 for Oregon at halftime. TCU was without a suspended Boykin at QB. Oregon's QB goes down. TCU ties it at 31 to go to overtime with little time to spare, including many 4th down conversions on multiple drives and a 2-pt conversion. both get a TD and then a FG in the first 2 OTs. TCU gets a TD in triple OT and fails on the mandatory 2-pt conversion. Oregon then gets stopped on 4th down on a nice diving defended pass. 47-41 final for TCU. The 31 points was the biggest comeback in bowl history.

Alabama does it again, and the dynasty is as good as ever.

A daring on-side kick turned the tide in Alabama's favor and touched off a second-half scoring explosion and the Crimson Tide beat Clemson 45-40 in the national championship on Monday night.

The thrill-a-minute game in the desert delivered a dazzling display of touchdowns, including two long pass plays from Jake Coker to O.J. Howard.

The victory gives Alabama (14-1) its fourth national title in seven years,, an incredible run under coach Nick Saban. Clemson (14-1) came into the game ranked No. 1 with a perfect record.

Derrick Henry carried 36 times for 158 yards and three TDs, a 50-yarder and a pair of 1-yard runs. His final score came with 1:21 left following a 63-yard Coker-to-Howard pass play.

Howard had five catches for 208 yards.

Deshaun Watson kept Clemson even into the fourth quarter before 'Bama went bonkers with a 24-point fourth quarter.

Great Championship. Best since Texas vs USC. Special Teams won it for Bama. Clemson played better on offense but the key blown coverages and missed tackles (very lazy wow) gave Bama more opportunities.

Dumbest call by Clemson was the goal-line D on 3rd and short from midfield. Obviously it goes all the way for 6.

    Bama specia teams:
    1. Early big returns
    2. Blocked FG
    3. Onside kick
    4. Kick Return TD

  10. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

That won it for them right there.

Yep, but if Clemson could just tackle it likely comes down to Clemson going for 2 at the end to tie it. They missed so many tackles. The worst was the tackle aimed at the guy's ANKLES in the backfield when he could have easily gotten his knees-waist area with his body. Lazy. Or maybe he was stupid scared the runner would bounce off him. Well he missed and it led to the big run to set up the final score.

I feel bad for the Clemson offense. Don't let the Bama stats fool you. Watson played better than the whole Bama offense combined despite his INT but unlike Bama, his defense couldn't be depended on for anything but stopping the run (after a few drives).

P.S. Not that Bama didn't play well on offense at all. They did great. Exploited the blown overages each time they showed too.

4 National Championships in 7 years is very crazy impressive too.

i hate Saban, but nobody calls that pooch onside kick but him. freaking brilliant call. I don't know what Dabo or whatever his name is was crying about. It's a legal play. I wish the guy could've returned it to the house. haha. Saban is like an old crafty pitcher. He may not throw 100 mph but his craftiness knows how to get you out. Saban is an old crafty coach. His team didn't play well at times, but behind, he knew what they needed and it was that pooch onside kick! He is the best coach in college football! Congrats Bama. Now I hate you even more. haha.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- The Big 12 will be allowed to hold a football championship game in the future if it wants to under a rule change approved at the NCAA's annual convention.

The change scraps the requirement that leagues have 12 members and play in two divisions in order to hold a title game. The new rule lets a smaller league play a title game pitting its top two teams, provided it plays a round-robin regular season schedule as the Big 12 does now.

The vote by the NCAA Division I Council passed 7-2 on Wednesday. The Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Athletic Conference voted against it and the Pac-12 didn't vote.

The 10-member Big 12 is the only major conference that doesn't play a football title game.

No. 1 prospect Rashan Gary chooses Michigan

The five-star defensive tackle from Paramus (N.J.) Catholic spent the final hours going back and forth between Clemson and Michigan. The Wolverines were considered the favorite early on, but the Tigers got the last visit with Gary and "closed a lot of ground on the Maize and Blue,"

In the end, Gary stuck with the Wolverines and coach Jim Harbaugh despite the late push from Clemson. Gary joins Jabrill Peppers as five-star prospects to sign with Michigan coming from Paramus Catholic, along with Chris Patridge, the school's former coach who is now a member of Harbaugh's staff.

Gary's commitment is the story of National Signing Day, as he is considered a unique talent on the line. At 6-foot-5 and 293 pounds, Gary has the frame and size to jump in immediately. He's one of the few players in this recruiting cycle you can honestly label as an "instant impact guy."

if he's that good why the hell go to michigan over bama or clemson and a contending team?

disappointing in ND's recruiting class. I saw as low as 9th and as high as 15th. They got guys they needed to fill in for the graduates but no 5 star guys and a lot of 3 star guys. And they lost out on Caleb Kelly last night too. He said he felt more needed at Oklahoma. What?

Why is Bama the best? they have a top 1-2 class and a ton of 5 star recruits, that's why.

Big 12 unlikely to have football title game in '16

IRVING, Texas (AP) ? The Big 12 is unlikely to play a football championship game this year even though the NCAA approved a plan last month that would allow the 10-team league to do so.

There are also not any immediately pending decisions to be made on possible expansion or a league-wide television network.

When Big 12 athletic directors met Thursday, they reviewed data from consultants that determined outcomes for the league depending on if it had a championship game or not. That included numerous scenarios, such as staying with the current nine-game round-robin schedule or playing fewer league games, and the addition of teams with or without a title game.

"Frankly some of the data we saw today causes us to continue to question whether or not we have a better chance of getting in the playoff without a championship game than we do with a championship game," said Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, whose league is the only of the five power conferences without a title game.
