The latest CFP Poll... #1 Alabama Crimson Tide #2 Ohio State Buckeyes #3 Louisville Cardinals #4 Michigan Wolverines #5 Clemson Tigers ____________________ Kinda went just as I was hoping for.
I just noticed I forgot to post the Top 25. Here it is. Of course it will change drastically in regards to Louisville and Houston will get back in relatively high. 1. Alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Clemson 4. Michigan 5. Louisville 6. Washington 7. Wisconsin 8. Penn State 9. West Virginia 10. Western Michigan 11. Oklahoma State 12. Utah 13. Nebraska 14. Oklahoma 15. Colorado 16. Southern California 17. Boise State 18. Washington State 19. Stanford 20. Virginia Tech 21. North Carolina 22. Pittsburgh 23. Texas A&M 24. Auburn 25. LSU The Rankings were very tough this week and the next few weeks will hopefully be easier. There is a steep drop-off after #11, after which a bunch of teams could easily be interchanged. Nebraska for instance could easily be almost 10 spots lower but many similar teams haven't done as much as you'd think. Oklahoma you may say? Why? Baylor was their first win that may mean a damn. The good news is they play their biggest 2 games next. A win next week will definitely get them to jump at least Nebraska.
Wisconsin beat Purdue, 49-20. Nebraska shucked Maryland, 28-7. Oklahoma State 31, TCU 6. FSU 45, Syracuse 14 Western Michigan 38-0 over Buffalo.
Texas officials have decided to fire third-year coach Charlie Strong, according to the Austin-American Statesman. The Longhorns (5-6) need a win over TCU in the season finale Friday to become bowl eligible, but it is unclear whether Strong will be on the sideline. An announcement could come as early as Monday morning, per the report. However, the school released a statement from athletic director Mike Perrin that suggested Strong's fate isn't quite so imminent. "There are a number of rumors out there about the status of Coach Strong. I've said it all along, we will evaluate the body of work after the regular season," Perrin's statement read in part. The move opens one of the highest-paying and highest-pressure coaching jobs in college football. With a salary north of $5 million per season, making him one of college football's 10 highest-paid coaches, expectations for Strong at a tradition-rich program like Texas were far beyond mere bowl eligibility. The Longhorns endured an embarrassing overtime loss to Kansas Saturday, 24-21, to give UT its sixth loss of the season. Quarterback Shane Buechele threw three interceptions, the last of which allowed Kansas to win with an overtime field goal. Strong compiled a 16-20 record in just under three seasons as coach, but in his third season, much more was expected despite the reliance on a freshman, Buechele, at the game's most important position. Texas' defense has been a major problem for Strong, who took over defensive coordinator duties in midseason. That came just a year after the coach changed offensive coordinators midseason. Texas last lost to Kansas in 1938. Strong was 23-3 over the last two of his four seasons at Louisville, a run which made him one of the most sought-after coaches in the game after the 2013 season.
http://www.cbssports.com/college-fo...ns-from-2012-2013-due-to-academic-misconduct/ vacated wins? now i want kelly out today!
love the mich - osu next week!!! i still think it won't matter as Bama is licking their chops at anyone come playoff time! the lambs are coming home for dinner and Saban is holding the knife and fork!
I still think Bama is vulnerable. It will be fun to see how things shape up this Saturday. GO BUCKEYES !!!
I don't think 2 Big Ten teams will get in. I think whoever wins the OSU-UM game is in - if UM wins out. Whoever loses is out, I think. I also don't think Penn State has any chance unless Clemson or Washington lose another game.
Of course I forgot to post the poll again. I forgot since I had a wedding I was in the party for. I'll post it now. Thanks Will and whoever else pays attention. *THUMBSUP*
