I miss the days when a team was built mostly off of kids who came in there as Freshmen, but I am also glad that players are getting paid now and have more opportunities to put themselves in the right place. With that said, Miami has hit the transfer portal HARD for the last few years, and it's paying off so far. They have an easy ACC schedule, so they'll need to basically run the table to finish in a playoff spot at the end of the year, which is intimidating. It's hard playing in the SEC (for example), but you can still get in as a one loss team. Miami probably won't, if they lose a game.

Thanks for thinking of me, Willie. I grew up a big Hurricanes fan, even though I went to college elsewhere. And you were spot on about that Boston College - FSU game! What a fall from grace for FSU so far! I love every fucking minute of it. Miami blows out Florida, FSU drops two early games they should've won... I'm feeling great. Miami v FSU set for October 26. You better believe I'll have a big plate of wings ready for that one.

Cheers, y'all! Hope life's treating you well!

As a little note of nostalgia to show why the Florida rivalries mean so much to me:

Playing pee wee football, all of our teams were named after Florida and SEC schools. I grew up a huge Miami fan. Every year, I somehow managed to play for the peewee team named after Miami (whether it was kismet or the coaches liked me, I don't care). I'd look at our schedule posted on the fridge to see "Miami v Florida" or "Miami v FSU" for that weekend, and I'd get so pumped. We were all South Florida kids - we knew we weren't playing for the actual schools, but it felt awesome to wear the uniforms, and to go into it pretending like we were part of that rivalry.

College football game days remind me of that time. Seeing my favorite Midwest teams take each other on (Illinois v Michigan State just gets my hairs standing on end, for some reason, for example), seeing the Florida rivalries renewed, and feeling the weather change to that crisp, fall air... It's one of those special feelings you can't explain, but you always appreciate.

Anyway, don't mind me. It's hotter than normal here in Minnesota, now, so I'm hoping we get back to the normal fall weather and I can enjoy some college football in a sweater, again.

Pro sports have always reminded me of my childhood. Im thankful to have a had the opportunity to play some as a kid growing up. There is an unbreakable link to your youth and playing the game or watching the game for your entire life, something always takes you back. Even tho my playing days are over, I still get fired up on weekends. Family and some friends dont get that, but they didnt play the stuff as kids either... its just a life-long connect for many of us.

Miami should roll Saturday at home vs Ball St. I havnt seen the Cardinals yet this year and one should never take lightly an opponent or underestimate a MAC school, but Miami looks tough so far.

lol, from what I know of Minnesota, your going to deeply regret those words.

    Take care.

Leading Marshall 28-14 at halftime. A newsworthy event so far n this one is that OSU scored on a T-formation play. Old. School. Football.

Watching the Michigan / USC game. Entertaining stuff, but I'm hoping USC gets going offensively and makes it a closer game. Love seeing Michigan just run the football.

I can guarantee you that Texas won’t be number one next Monday, Georgia plays at Alabama this week, so the winner of that game is the next top team.

If Alabama wins at home in a close game and the Longhorns blow out Mississippi State, I think Texas retains #1 status. Just my opinion, but I wouldnt want to see a team punished for nothing.

Mississippi State is like playing Liberty Baptist compared to playing Georgia or Bama
