NCAA stuff

Arizona State has a really good team. When I played at a year at the University of Colorado we played ASU and lost by a touchdown, they were so good. Now this was club hockey so take it for whatever you want but Ive played D2 NCAA hockey also and can say w/out a doubt that the Arizona St. team that beat us would've handily beaten my former St Anselm team as well.
Great to see growth out there.

For me, this gives some vindication for the NHL's decision to move into the South. Without the yotes, there is no way that hockey would be played at the D-1 level in Arizona. Their problem, more than anything else, is that Glendale is inconvenient for a lot of their potential fans.
If you catch a game there you may have a hard time recognizing who the home team is if you only look at the sweaters in the stands. In a few years - if they still have a team - they may succeed in developing an indigenous fan base.

damn he's good. where the hell are you Maine? letting him wind up behind the net and not even attempt to make contact until he's at the red line might not be the ideal way to play Eichel. this game is easy from the couch.

 

Matty is Notre Dame any good?

 

not as strong as they have been but they're still pretty solid. .500 right now but NCAA doesn't seem to really matter until after Christmas, thats when the good teams generally separate.
ND could be there, they're definitely one of the top tier programs now that is always capable of getting elite players. I never like playing them. Jeff Jackson is a great coach too.

 

I got ya beat Matty. My son used to play defense in high school, haha.........He got into more fights his senior year. Probably because he was a little bigger as a senior......

 

The Irish have a couple of Sabres' prospects, so they're worth following. Naturally, I like the Irish, but they did get onto my shit list for once beating the Cornell Big Red. They've been given a reprieve.

Love me some Harvard. Back in the good old days when BC wasn't a school of rich nerds the student section used to taunt Harvard w/ beauties like, "They brought the calculators, we brought the beer! beer! beer! beer!".

Quite the article that PuckDaddy wrote saying that Hockeyeast is a 2 team race- BU and UML. Such a joke discounting at least 3 or 4 other teams that are just as likely to take it. Starting w/ the Beanpot and moving forward is winning season, we'll see where BU is at that point.

How does North Dakota look this year. The fighting Sioux is the team the really got me into hockey when I was stationed at Grand Forks. Went to a lot of their games and really learned the rules of the game and the excitement of Hockey.

 

I think the "other" ND is looking good again this season. I engineer my business travel around hockey and have been thinking that I need to make a business trip there. They always think I'm nuts when I insist on winter trips to cold places.
