he made the team last year so I would assume that he had an inside track for this year. nothing overly spectacular skill-wise though. let's just say that I would expect Brian Burke to like his game. i like D like that too but it's not like he isn't replaceable. Give me Seth Jones' brother instead. for BC he's a real loss. different level of play and not able to just promote someone else of the same stature in to the top 6.
#1 may be a stretch but even having another kid in the conversation is great to hear. the CHL vs NCAA battle is on for this kid. I like to think of it like cloak and dagger back room murder type stuff. Hopefully uncle Jerry murders the Hunter brothers. http://www.uscho.com/recruiting/201...major-juniors-as-options-but-hes-in-no-hurry/

its like Christmas Eve for me this morning?or like Christmas morning. BU @ BC tonight, 8pm NBCSN, everyone should be able to get it. Eichel vs Hanifin Evil vs Good My hate of the Habs, Yankees and Jets combined don't equal my hate for BU. Its not as bad now that Parker has been sent out to the pasture but it still exists. There are many terrible Boston fans, as you all well know, those fans are all BU guys. and don't forget that. some Eichel ball licking, decent Buccigross article. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/1...spect-jack-eichel-boston-university-lava-lamp gotta run now, i'll check back in later.
Okay, I couldn't make it past the first sentence: "Jack Eichel moves around the ice like a lava lamp"
lol, i thought the same thing. i did endure and it was a pretty good article w/ a couple bits on info i didn't know and stuff i liked. but yes, some elite ball washing indeed. - working class kid that was never a surefire D1 player, let alone NHL star prospect, until about a year and a half ago. i just assumed that he was the real deal from the minute he laced em up. when i coached at A/B we had a really strong goalie named Erik Wurman who is the same age as Eichel and they played for the same Team Mass squad. I remember Wurman telling me that we were extremely lucky that this Eichel kid wasn't playing for our league rival Chelmsford High. I kind of shook it off until about a year ago when I realized just how right Wurmy was. - i like the Eichel in his Jr Bruins uni photo. played for them back in the day myself. - BU sucks - almost forgot, they mention the Masters bros. in that article. They are absolute loons and the product of a top-notch crazy hockey dad.
itechs are for assholes. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2014/11/06_comm_ave_battle_attracts_north.php
Here's the stat leaders: http://www.uscho.com/stats/overall/division-i-men/2014-2015/ I've never seen most of the names, I don't more than a dozen of the top 50 are even drafted. Minnesota is a consensus number one right now. The college attendance numbers always keep me scratching my head: http://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance/division-i-men/2014-2015/ Some have really good student turnout and others don't but they get inflated numbers. I still don't know what city half the programs are in.
those stats leaders are a little weird. so early still, i think in a month you'll know more of the names. Some recognizables I think- Eichel, Rau, Anas (Anus) is good you'll hear his name moving forward, Vecchione (should be at UNH but Umile dropped the ball), Cammarata, Reilly, Kuraly, Barber, and Im assuming that's Cory Conacher's brother at Cannisius, Don Lucia's kid on the list too. attendance is strange, some programs just draw because its the only game in town while others don't do that well when you think that they would. BC's fan base is awful, the numbers they come up w/ leave me confused and the fan base itself is a bunch of nerds - old and young. Used to be different. Success has brought apathy, imo. They don't do as well as those numbers would indicate. They sell out almost every away game it seems but the seen at Conte can be pretty weak. Even against BU last week there were empty seats, Im sure it was announced as a sellout but the place certainly was not full. That rink sucks anyway.
I really don't read much of anything into CHL, NCAA, or foreign pro-league stats since the games are so different.
the best thing learned from that leader board is that theres a kid named Max French at Bentley. Based on name I have to assume that he has a sweet mustache and a slippery game.
I will not comment on attendance in general, but my current local school, Univ. of Denver does well when I go. Cornell has it's Lynah's faithful; we cued up 24 hours for season tickets in my day. Go BIG RED. Oh, and BU sucks. Hahvahd too!

Arizona State Univ. will add Division I hockey in 2016-17. There will be sixty teams playing at the NCAA highest level at that point. The new teams - Penn State with their Pegulabucks and U. Conn also have made the move - will add about 75 new hockey scholarships. The future of collegiate hockey looks strong.
