There's no one close to Jim Vesey's rock star status this year, but if I'm not mistaken Tage was considered one of the better FA collegiate. If the Sabres do not sign Cal Peterson, (G, Notre Dame) then he'll garner a lot of interest.
Thompson was picked 1/26 last draft. Skilled long kid that sorta had a lazy/pussy rep coming in to the season. Had a great season for UConn and the US WJC team. He was one of that group of St Louis kids that got picked early. I think Logan Brown, little Walt Tkachuk, Trent Frederic, Joe Woll, someone else too maybe???
nu huskies are having fun with bu. this should be making matty happy. pairwise has the eagles outside looking in. they need to beat vermont. michigan over psu would be fun. go fighting [del]sioux[/del] hawks.
I skate with a great group of guys year round. Lots of different ages and skill levels but a great group of guys, no one has more fun than us. So some of these guys bring their kids or friends or kid's friends..... whatever. There's this one kid that's been coming off and on for a few years now, he's probably something like 21 now. I figured that the college dream was over and he was just out there plugging away like the rest of us just looking for a good sweat. Just found out that he's going to RPI to play?!?! WTF, he's not even that good. This has me simultaneously pissed and excited.
good way to look at it, this situation is probably a win for Cornell. http://bostonjuniorbruins.com/archives/harris-to-join-engineers/
Yup, Go Big Red! That kid is kinda flabby. (Better to have the snot kicked outta him by Cornell.) Is he related to teh Phil?
Ya he's one of those skinny fat guys. That can be a blessing sometimes though, if the kid gets serious about nutrition he should be immediately better. Not the case for this young man I don't think. Paul Mara was always a skinny fat.
I'm no hockey scout, but I pay attention to the kids when I see college action. I can remember being not particularly impressed with - at the same time not down on - the UNO prospect Snuggerud. Based on that, I kinda expect he'll take a lot of seasoning in the AHL before he ever is ready for the jump. The Hawks will probably make him look just good enough to be included in a future deadline deal. Everyone will decry how expensive the trade was, but Stan will be smiling in the end. Where's Dahlbeck now? (This is a rhetorical question, but Klas ain't the player we expected he'd become.)
Now for the game we all care about: The Cornell Big Red face off against Hahvahd today for the ECAC Championship in Lake Placid, NY. Go Big Red!
Should be a good one. This is the best Harvard team in decades, Cornell has the edge in alums with Dan though. Cornell 4-3. BC / Lowell tonight for the Hockey East crown. The good guys need to win to get in to the real tournament. Probably doesn't matter, they don't have the horses to make a real run but it would be nice to see what they can do anyway. I like G -Joe Woll (Toronto-'16) more and more every time I see him. I think he's gonna come back next year and be a monster...... not like a Gustavsson monster more like a really strong goalie prospect monster.
hahvud up 1-0 after one. denver wins the consolation game over w mich. low ell up 4-2 ovah bc. fighting hocks just getting started with the dulu's
