good game and win from Quinnipiac. felt like BC was gonna tie it up the whole time just never happened. i have a feeling that theyre gonna be stung by the NHL bug this summer and probably have a tough year next year.
I think PHL is most likely to land Caggiula; Drake follows his former coach. BUF is strongly in the running and has an edge since Drake camped there.
BC threw everything they had and couldn't get the tying goal. great game to watch. the finals should be fun.
demko will be at utica next year according to trevor linden. i always take these comments with a grain of salt.
Jimmy Vesey takes the Hobey. 2 years in a row now that the Hobey winner is expected to be a good NHLer, not usually the case. Steve Santini signed w/ the Devils. Demko assumed gone after meeting w/ Benning today. McCoshen expected to jump. Alex Tuch and Colin White maybe. hopefully no more Long Islanders like Milano & Bracco.
the way the Canucks handled Cory Schnieder;s development was perfect and theyde be smart to do the same w/ Demko. Slow and steady. Schneider had a brutal start to his pro career. after a couple months he righted the ship and got it under control but the Canucks allowed him to take his lumps and progress at his own natural pace. that's gonna be the key for Demko too but he's already improved dramatically. I think the off-season double hip surgery really helped him as well. wish nothing but the best for him.
this vesey kid impresses me less and less by the day. i'm old school. just play and shut up kid, right now i compare you to radulov. swearing his family was named vaginalinko and changed his name.
wow is it consequence or just ironic that dave hakstol leaves north dakota and they win the ncaa title with a new coach?
I read this in the NYT when I was in AZ last week. Anybody around here know Jerry? http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/07/sports/hockey/boston-college-jerry-york-frozen-four.html?_r=0
nice article Bob, thanks. how was that trip? you get on the golf course at all? I can't believe Lenny Ceglarski is 90. doesn't look that old and he can still hold a good hockey conversation.
Danton Heinen is leaving the Univ. of Denver to sign with Boston. This is only slightly curious since he is finishing his Sophomore year so Boston would have held his rights for another season before risking losing him a year later. On the other hand, this kid is good. Really good.
i think heinen will do very well in the nhl, keeps his head up and positions himself well. calm decisions.
I hit many golf balls and donated many titleists to Taikembal in the Tonto forest. I'm told Taikembal is the the golf god of the desert and he must be paid tribute. My belligerent right to left (spoken "hook") kept me from angering the god. Many triples and a few birds so all is well.
over the past 2 season the good guys have lost quite a few undergrad players to the pros. D- Matheson, Hanifin, Santini and probably McCoshen. F- Milano and Bracco (sort of count), Wood, and now Tuch. a little too similar to the movie BlueChips for my liking. the one eyed wolf fighter needs to get back to recruiting the little F that stays all 4 years- Gionta x2, Gerbe, B. Eaves, Voce, Collins, Whitney x2, Bertram, ??.?.im sure I'm forgetting a few more here. one of the issues i think is that the little guy is so much more valuable in today's NHL, looking at Cam Atkinson and Johnny Gaudreau as examples.
