brock should have been a finalist for the hobey, as he carried the fighting squirmy yellow things. bestest rookie in nd history and soon to be traded by the nucks. finally benning will start getting phone calls about his draft pick and he'll dump it off to chicago for shaw.
Matty, BC has a frosh F whose rights are held by NJ. But, he becomes unrestricted after next season since he played two seasons before matriculating at BC. Wood will be a highly coveted FA in one year.
I think the G that Montreal signed out of St. Cloud State has a real good chance of making it. The rest of the UDFA G's are more likely to make it in the AHL. But, you never know with those freaks that some call "goalie".
he's really good and has been heading in the right direction. as I understand it he was eligible to play last year had he taken a summer school class but his parents wanted him to graduate from Nobles as opposed to the local public H.S. Either way, a later bloomer and he's still improving by the game. Could be a really strong pro prospect when its all said and done. can an NCAA player becomes unrestricted in the middle of their school tenure?
Yes, NCAA guys are protected for four years, but it does not matter if he's spent the years in college. Nice for you to have so much local talent. I predict Wood signs with Boston once he's free from Satan, err the Devils.
The Devils may put the hard press on to sign him after the Frozen Four, but since they're not in the playoffs they cannot offer the allure of jumping right to the NHL. The NJ Devils have some nice young D, if the could add F's to match then they could be dangerous again rather soon.
Better yet for Boston and for being able to choose where he plays. It's really like a player finishing his Junior season; the draft team does not want to roll the dice that he'll sign after his Senior year. He's an older college player, so I'd be surprised if he lasts past his Sophomore year. Meanwhile, NJ really needs offense, that's my real reason for saying they may sign him anyway after the Frozen Four.
It looks like the Latvian G playing in Sweden will go to SJ. I'm not going to besmirch the Yale G because I've seen him play exactly zero minutes. But I'll be surprised if he ever becomes more than an average NHLer. Meanwhile, I hold Yalies in the same category as Hahvahders; they blow dead donkey dick.
ouch that hurts. what did the flyers ever do to you? i don't know the rules here but a few things i need to ask the experts on here: 1) if he's so damn good why wasn't he drafted last summer? 2) why was he allowed to just sign with anyone and why now in april? why wasn't he signed bf he is so damn good? 3) he's 23. did he flunk some grades. most college freshman are 18 going on 19. if he enter college at 19, which is really rare, he must've stayed behind as 23 is an old college senior unless he's on the 5 yr plan.
cat, the Flyers are the slimballs, please stop taking offense. players are only draft eligible for a couple years, Lyon was probably eligible 4-5 years ago.
wow-that's interesting. i thought all college players were eligible to be drafted as he's a senior now, which makes sense to draft him a few years ago. surprised he wasn't drafted. thanks for the info. this is why i ask you guys. as for slimballs...yeah i hate boston and tim thomas, chara, lucic, espo, o'reilly, and a few others. the only bruins i really like was ray bourque and cam "seabass" neely.
