the ref made contact but the kid sorta allowed himself to get launched in to the boards there. i wonder what he was saying to the ref after that, you could see that he came up barking.

The location of the Frozen Four reminds me of how Ithaca NY is described as "centrally isolated". You go in any direction from Ithaca for about five hours and you hit a big burg. It's smack dab in the center, but a long way from anything. Amalie Arena is isolated for everyone, but at least everyone racks up a lot of miles.
Drake Caggiula is going to be a hot UDFA as soon as North Dakota's season ends. I place the greatest odds that he signs with PHL; following his former HC to the NHL. BUF may be in second place for his services since he knows the org. & city a bit from training camp. BC has an attractive UDFA - what's his name, Matty? At most, I think BUF will sign one more UDFA, (they signed MN State, Casey Nelson, D, and he's already got 3 assists for the Sabres). They stand at 48 contracts against the 50-contract limit, and one or more of their own prospects to sign soon too. Of course space will be opened up when they cut ties with some of the 16 pending RFA's.
not sure, Casey Fitzgerald wasn't drafted last year, that surprised me. then there's Teddy Doherty who kind of jumps all over the lineup. He's a senior and the Capt but Id be shocked if he ever gets any NHL time. clowns
here are the updated standings. only the top 3, of 3, listed. 1st round wins= 1 pt, 2nd=2 and so on. Dan has 11 pts 1st round (5)- Quin, Lowell, BC, NDak, Den 2nd round (6)- Quin, BC, NDak Red has 8pts 1st round (6) Quin, Lowell, BC, NDak, Mich, Den 2nd round (2) NDak and then last place, I have 7 pts. 1st round (5) Quin, Lowell, BC, Mich, Den 2nd round (2) BC
Matty, you're not in last place. You're in third place. All the 'P's!' that did not make picks are in last place.
I just forgot. I would have kicked some butt..with a few picks. We'll just assume I would have won. *BYE*
this Vesey thing is so good. the response he put out today was so much better than what Poile pulled.
It seems to me like Poile has his head up his arse or he's trying to throw some meat to the fans while covering his ass. The kid rejected multiple offers going back a year. Fenton stalks/talks to him, without his agent present, to get a verbal commitment...why would anybody take that serious without the agent going along with it? Even taking what Poile says, it screams of desperation. Vesey rejected the offer last April, that's a big red flag. All the financial stuff is a joke too. How's his situation better with a few more bucks now if they own his rights for years? How has asking for a trade helped out Drouin, Yak? Hamonic has a sick family member, like Vesey (dad supposedly fighting cancer for years), how's that trade request working out from last fall? Can't believe Poile made all the comments about bad advice and that he's making a financial mistake. What a dummy, and you can bet the NHL player agents paid attention to every part of what he did. Huge list of booboos for Poile on this one, even if Vesey's camp was liars. Yet it still seems Poile/Pred fans(and plenty more) are passing the blame off of the gm.
Kyle Connor, Thatcher Demko, and Jimmy Vesey are the Hobey Finalists. no chance Vesey gets it, he had a better season last year and couldn't win. cant remember the last time a goalie won, this could be the year though.
as you said, Poile looks foolish and is trying to cover himself and the time the deal was going to go down would've been 12 months ago, similar to the Gaudreau signing. Vesey not signing in Nashville was the worst kept secret of the year. seems like a totally unnecessary desperation move from Poile. maybe he's feeling the heat and his job is more on the line than people realize. i already got my Vesey Broonz tattoo. side of the neck so everyone knows i mean business.
