Three Wolverines. Is it unprecedented to have three teammates on the Hobey finalists list? One fucking Hahvahd player. All will be forgiven if he spurns the Preds and signs with the Sabres. (That ain't likely - not the spurning the Preds part. If he doesn't sign with Buffalo I hope goes to the Oil and rots.)
i don't know if unprecedented would be the word but certainly not the norm for 3 from the same team. i have no idea who will win. obviously pulling for Demko but goalies don't typically get much Hobey love. maybe it'll be Connor to make it back to back freshmen.
The Hobey is not always a good indicator of future NHL success. But I believe JT Compher will develop into a real nice bottom six winger. He's smart and he's gritty, he's been playing a two-game from his Freshman campaign. I project a fine hockey career for this prospect that went to the Avs in the ROR deal.
Peter Sejna Drew LeBlanc (go Hawks!) Marty Sertich Jack Connolly Brian Bonin etc. etc. etc.
Mike Eaves was just let go by Wisconsin. understandable, thats what 12-45-13 over the past 2 seasons will get ya. in his defense he won a title and lost a title in his tenure at Wisconsin.
Notre Dame and Penn State has really thrown recruiting for a loop. PSU has players from MO and MN that might have chosen Madison had it not been for the money thrown into those programs. Notre Dame is full of players from Wisconsin's (and MInnesota's) recruiting grounds too. Their 2nd best scorer is about a hour from Wisconsin but went to South bend...that's a big problem for the program, makes sense to change regimes. Now that the USHL is so much bigger and better, I wonder how much better or worse that makes it on all these schools in the upper midwest area. No doubt the talent pool has expanded tremendously. So many good programs with more players from Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois, wasn't so much the case years ago.
great points about ND and PSU poaching potential Wisconsin kids and the timing makes perfect sense for that. Still should be enough to go around though w/ those states you said and just the number of kids available from all over. the Wisconsin pool of candidates should be huge.
not sure if anyone knows where you can gamble on college hockey online but id take Northeastern to win tonight and possibly to win the whole thing depending on their number. i would assume theyde be huge dogs but worth the shot. they started the season 1-11-2 and wound up finishing 20-13-5.
Lowell beats Providence on a garbage goal in triple OT, 2:30 on this^ video. kid redirected it on purpose, he didn't even initially celebrate because he knew it shouldn't count. worst part is that the initial call was no goal and then it was reversed. the 3 OTs made the 2nd game (BC/NU) drop the puck sometime around 10:45 last night. i got home at 2 am, the wrong team won both games and I didn't even get to drink! my thoughts on Northeastern were reaffirmed last night, they really took it to BC and w/out Demko that could've been out of hand.
no problem. North Dakota got fucked over so badly in the seedings. #1 team for most of the year and they draw the HE champ as a 1 seed. having NU or ND out after 1 round is awesome for everyone else.
St. Cloud has a team that could do it all. Lowell is anudder powerhouse this year that has gotten hot at the end. Quinnipuckpuck is falling off my radar.
some great points from both sides and hard to argue w/ here. but Bazin makes a good point too. for me a 22 year old freshman is too much. 21 is late enough.
^^^the above article is what is wrong about the ncaa. you can be a late arrival in any other sport. tell the young girl who had a kid first that she can only have 3 years of scholarship and what a legal mess this would be.
Stout defense in St. Cloud! Will Borgen skates there. Lotta Sabres prospects in this tourney - so hard to choose.
