they do cat. BU and BC like each other the same way that Flyer and Penguin fans like each other, maybe even worse. the rivalry is twice as old and the schools are only like 8 miles away from each other. I don't like the Yankees, I really dislike the Canadiens, but I absolutely hate the BU hockey program, specifically their ex coach Jack Parker.
BC/BU playing an alumni hockey fundraiser for ALS. I really just want to draw attention to how much better the BC side is. also, WTF?!??!?! ever heard of Robert Edwards? these guys are nuts for playing in this. The list of players: Chris Kreider, New York Rangers, BC ?13 Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames, BC ?15 Kevin Hayes, New York Rangers, BC ?14 Mike Mottau, Boston Bruins, BC ?00 Jay Pandalfo, New Jersey Devils, BU ?96 Charlie Coyle, Minnesota Wild, BU ?14 Freddy Meyer, Philladelhia Flyers, BU ?03 Jimmy Hayes, Florida Panthers, BC ?12 Paul Carey, Boston Bruins, BC ?12 John Muse, Carolina Hurricanes, BC ?11 Brian Dumoulin, Pittsburgh Penguins, BC ?13 Bill Arnold, Calgary Flames, BC ?14 Dave Spina, Finland, BC ?05 Patrick Brown, Carolina Hurricanes, BC ?14 Brian Leetch, New York Rangers, BC ?87 Scott Young, St. Louis Blues, BU ?87 Adam Clendening, Vancouver Canucks, BU ?14 Wade Megan, Florida Panthers, BU ?13 Joe Whitney, New Jersey Devils, BC ?11 Brian Gibbons, Columbus Blue Jackets, BC ?11 Jeff Giuliano, Los Angeles Kings, BC ?02 http://www.eagletribune.com/sports/...cle_78787f3b-ee90-5533-bab7-bec4fd157279.html
Matty, is this an annual event? It should be; stokes the rivalry for a very good cause. For the record, I've always leaned a bit to BC - had some BC alum buddies in 84 and got to meet Doug Flutie. All niceties aside, next year BU would have the ringer.
a 1st time event Dan. a bad idea for the current players. who's to say that some ex NHLer doesn't have an ax to grind or is still trying to prove something out there. next thing you know Gaudreau or Coyle have a separated shoulder or torn ACL. hell, a rut in the ice can even accomplish that. i think we can agree on this- BU will not have that ringer next year, Buffalo will.
Robbie Russo, dman Notre Dame, won't be signing with the Islanders. He's another UFA NCAA dman come August 15. He was pretty highly regarded, top 100 or so in the NCAA, but he had off the ice issues from my understanding the team of Wang isn't offering him a contract.
unless the new deal addresses Quinn jumping to the pros this is such a Sully/BU move. couldn't let it play out at all could you BU? you deserve for this thing to come crashing down on you. just tore up a 3 year deal for a 5, clowns.
nice. hoping he's 100% by the start of the season, gotta assume this is his last at BC. seems like hip surgery is all the rage among goalies these days. probably butterfly related.
it is butterfly related. they develop damage at the top of the hip that should be shaved as a teen. if done early, they won't have pain doing the butterfly. the hip isn't made to do that, well except on women.
Noah Hanifin signed w/ Carolina on Saturday. I think he could've used another year, no turning back now. ?Noah has had a great week here during our prospect development camp,? Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis said in a statement. ?He is big, he can skate and he can move the puck. Noah fits the mold for the type of player and person we want in a Hurricanes uniform.?

I didn't bother to compare the NCAA GSR (grad success rate) to the much more stringent federal criteria, but I'm sure it's still very good. In other NCAA news, Arizona got their first goal. MOAR desert hockey!!!
