speaking of animals and grandpa's ... my Mom's Dad, my Grandfather, was some sort of land surveyor for the Army or a soldier...i don't recall, but he was on the crew that help build the Panama Canal. My Mom would tell me a story i could not believe. My Grandfather found and raised a puma or cougar as a cub, like a little kitten. As the animal grew, he became more attached to my Grandfather. He would sleep at the bottom of his Army bed much like a kitten would. When it rained and thundered, the animal would whimper and cry and get under my Grandfather's blankets as he was scared.

At this point, im like "no way Mom this is true." She said "why not?" I said bc as it grew, it would have a bigger appetite and eat him. She said he raised it as a little cub and was the only person near it. the puma trusted him like a cat trusts its owner. The cub didn't like anyone else. So in the mid-1980's before he died, I asked him about it and he said "oh sure, he had a pet puma." ...i think he said a puma and he did raise it as like a kitten and since he was so docile, he acted like a kitten, etc. i still don't believe it. when he was done in the Army, he gave it to a local zoo. i didn't believe any of it. a pet puma! jeez.

Speaking of irish, did you know the former president of mexico was irish. Even anthony quinn is mexican irish. During the tex-mex war, many irish catholics went to the mexican side, based on religion

 

^^ the story to me seemed silly. a grown man with a puma that wouldn't eat him, but i do know, like kittens, they do love their "owners" of "caregivers" etc. i even forget the damn puma's name too. i think there was a picture of them 2 as that proved it true but that was in 1984/85 and i was 13 or 14.
