Don't trust doctors, do your own reaearch. I have a 2nd degree chemical burn on the top of my foot, I've been walking on nerve endings for the last 3 weeks. Needless to say, it's been miserable, but things are beginning to look up.
I went to four doctors and sought advice from three different pharmacists. You would be amazed how simple the solution was and how the majority of the doctors got it wrong. One doctor wanted to book surgery, another one said it was nothing and would go away in two weeks.
The answer was a product called flamazine, which treats burns. The doctor that tipped me off on it had it right, but said that I can only get this through hospital visits for wound care. My detective instincts kicked in, I went to the pharmacy and found out I could get it there with a doctors prescription.
In the end, I ended up going to the doctor and telling him what I needed, he agreed. I just wonder if I had gone there without mentioning flamazine, would he have prescribed it?

tough call on your question. im betting since he wasn't the one that tip you off, than no.

and surgery ? what the hell surgery was the 1 Doctor willing to do for your burn? that's scary!

Its funny, I went to Johns to specifically get a roast pork because I heard it was the best in town. I got the pork and the wife got a cheesesteak. I wasn't really crazy about mine and she wasn't crazy about hers. We switched and then we were both really happy.

^^ haha good one pgh. i lived in south philly for 10 years and never went to john's! some of these ratings are a little biased too.

for cheesesteaks, i like the meat chopped, not flat like steak'ums or pat's. and i like a lot of it. too many places go cheap on the meat. i want it loaded up. as i said bf Maria' s cart on 16th in between Market and Chestnuts streets had the best cheesesteak in the city! chopped, loaded to the top, good bread and damn tasty!

Wait 3 months for surgery lingering in pain, after four days the silvadene is working its magic. ;)

wow. great news for you. i had ailments doctors couldn't figure out either. it's amazing what over the counter stuff does for you vs hospital treatment.

Not silvadene, flamazine, any doctor should've known this, most popular way to treat a burn victim.

Best cheesesteak I ever had was at a Phillies game right when the stadium was fairly new. I think it was Tony Lukes. I loaded it with those hot cherry peppers. I was pretty loaded myself so that may have affected my rating.

yes Tony Luke's is around the corner from the stadium. on non-game nights, the line is still long 50 people deep. on any game night for any of the 4 teams, the line is 75-100 people deep all day long !

and Tony Luke's is the best around, so no, your drunkenness had nothing to do with the praise. haha.

No veals on the menu, of course, it's not Ontario veal.ohhhhhh

  16. Catfish Guest

no veals in South Philly! haha. Well maybe the really old school joints, but not the tourist places. The Italian Market probably has them.

  17. skinny123 Guest

I doubt it, it's an ontario thing, there were no veal sandwiches in Italy either.

that was the 1 thing i hated about leaving philly for work. i work in the 'burbs now so i pack my lunch. in philly, i could walk to 15 places in under 5 min. great food selection across the board.

I think I've tried all types of food, in the end, if the ingredients aren't fresh, don't blame it on the country of origin.

I think one of the best things I ever ate was a prawn dish I got in Thailand last fall. It was just shrimp and a few vegs in some kind of hot red sauce over rice. It was a small kind of dumpy looking place right on the beach. The taste was unbelievable even though it didn't look like much.
