it's amazing over many years what underpopulated land has become. even now when i go back to my old neighborhood, these nasty woods that had black water surrounded every tree and was unplayable as a kid, is now a cul de sac and 50 $500,000 homes! where vacant land stood are now homes and developments. i lived there a long time - over 25 yrs and nothing. in the last 17 yrs- progress out the ass and massive building. NYC was no different.

The New York that Hudson found was around for 100 million years, the NY of today, basically 100 years.

yep skinny- how cities and civilizations came to be is amazing.

Funny thing is, there was a civilization already there, families with a mother, father and children. The main street they used was a trail which today is broadway.
I wonder how many people living there today feel that their life is more signifigant than people that lived there in the 1300's, and why?

i doubt many people give a shit. today's society and sense of family is in the shitter. it was different 30 yrs ago, 50 yrs ago etc. a small group enjoy the question you asked and the history of humans and civilizations. the rest just live in it and not care to think about it.

Yeah, I'm sure if you went walking around the bronx and asked them if they were aware of civilizations on that very spot hundreds of years ago, they would think you were just another crackhead lol.
Peoples self-importance, tied to money and possessions, giving them the arrogance and ego to think that they're worth more than people that just lived off the land and were pagans with no formal education.

people got by on very little and lived off the land. now they want more of everything. greed is in the house.

A Guinness World Record for the longest hockey game was just set at the HarborCenter in Buffalo. The teams started play on June 22 and continued for 11+ days. Players were not permitted to leave the HC for any reason.

In the process of setting a world record, over $1.2MM was raised for cancer research. The PSE (Pegula Sports) did their part by donating the facility.

Oh, Team Blue team won 1,725 to 1,697.
