    jeez-thanks for ruining my day.

im not going to argue science, but how is that possible? a second is just that a second. how can it get up the propulsion to go 4 and 1/2 miles that quickly?
so counting down 3, 2, 1 ignite - a second has already past and this is 4 and a 1/2 miles ahead?

I think they're talking about when it's going at top speed, that's quick. Lol this thread takes no prisoners.

yeah - that's really fast. almost impossible to believe.

and if Russian launched that thing and we were all going to die, i would break my sobriety and drink till the bomb hit the East Coast.

skinny - that killer i posted on the ditch yesterday is now heading to nevada with a hit list of people he wants to kill....

    holy shit...

In reality the russians(soviets) have had the capability for over 30 years. They could easily be launched from their subs and hit any target they wanted to. The difference here is how quick it is and can avoid any anti-missle technology.

what can the US do to stop them ? or do we just fold like cheap lawn chairs and take it up the ass and die? how did we allow them to have these capabilities?

It is a sad reality, makes me think that putin isn't a madman. He uses it for leverage, but if a crazy guy could ever put his hands on the button. North korea is trying to develop them along with pakistan, not sure this world can go on another 100 years. Plans to colonize mars by 2027 already underway, I'm wondering if that second generation will see a blue dot.

i thought Obama said a station on Mars, not Colonization? I don't see how it's possible. And the cost. I am a big believer in not funding NASA. The billions and trillions spent on finding a new galaxy we will never reach or access is unreal. In the US, we got crime running rapid, homeless people on street corners, tons of poverty and a hundred other problems and we spend our money on funding a program that deals in space and not our issues at home? No thanks.

They have not found 1 thing in space we can use to help our food or water supply or a substitute to it. hey, if they found usable water on Mars-im cool with tapping into it. Or some food source or energy or heat source. Cool. Tap that bitch like Jed Clampett and suck it dry. Still waiting. Freaking JFK had to follow the Russians into space. Big whoop!

And did they prove anyone can live on Mars? This isn't going to be a movie like the Martian with Matt Damon! This will be real life!

Same shit that started in the 1940s
Hype up new weapon with new features before anybody has a clue before it works or not so the West, particularly the US, can spend on new toys to fight it.

We were worried about 90s Soviet Destroyers with a new anti ship missile being sold to china. Turns out the system didn't work worth a damn but it looked really cool so we spent a ton defending against it. They still haven't figured it out worth a damn

A new Russian jet came out around 1960 and could fire a missile at mach 3 so we built better features on bombers and better fighters to counter it. Turns out that the jet couldn't do anything at Mach 3, it was pretty useless but it looked and sounded really cool.

In other words, I can't wait to read about how we're spending on expensive new toys to fight a ghost.

Cat, we buy foil and build and stock bunkers...it's the only way to get through it.

  12. Catfish Guest

hbob-,my sister and brother in law who had the multiple bunkers sold their house and downsized into a smaller home. first thing he did was set up a new bunker - no lie. haha. i am seeing it for the first time Saturday!

This will be like the 1490's all over again, the first ship sailed for the new world and twenty years later there were thousands. Private companies funded from different sources and nasa has plans to send people in the 2030's.

They dropped the A bomb in 1945 and it did extensive damage, I fear what they could do in 2016. Just that accident at chernobyl screwed people for life, there could be flaws and glitches, but are you really saying it's all a hoax.

  16. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

    I didn't say it's a hoax, It's a real weapon.
I just doubt it's going to be as awesomely destructive as advertised, or effective enough to justify an inevitable attempt to make some expensive program to counter it.

  17. skinny123 Guest

It's a vicious cycle of money wasted, and it's really hurt russians the most, thirty-five years ago, they used to spend more money on weapons than food, despite having food shortages, pretty sad.

  18. Catfish Guest

    what about on Vodka? haha

  19. Catfish Guest

i'll believe it when i see it. it takes 1 catastrophe i.e. deaths, explosions etc - for companies to bail out. yeah 100 people i don't know. all scientist and shit. enjoy the view.

    Fair enough.
I would prefer some public shaming of those that blew the money that wasn't theirs knowingly, but it being such a politically sensitive topic, combined with the difficulty of collections, probably justifies the action.
