In 1889, Germany could've probably walked into certain parts of the US and probably have been welcome with open arms. Boston was more of an Anglo and Irish city, but if they were to have gone into Pennsylvannia,Wisconsin, Michigan or Dakota, at that time more people spoke German than English.

There were German schools all over the US, the only reason why they were taken down was because of the World Wars.

I was in NY, you could literally get by speaking only espanol. Same with florida, texas, california, new mexico, arizona.
It surprised me when I was in Tennessee, the signs at the bus station were in both english and spanish.

I know a company that does half their business in the US. They hired an Ecuadorian employee, he's constantly speaking spanish on the phone with US clients, and sales were up.

  9. Skinny when GF and I were Vegas........we were shocked at Spanish on the Bus to Fremont......and I think EVERY employee in the Flamingo was from Mexico.

i can barely speak it. looks like im not going to those states. haha. i'll never go back to texas. way too hot. how those people live like that is beyond me. you can't even go outside. you can't even breathe. i can't even smoke my cigars down there. can't go outside to smoke them ! fuck that.

that's why i don't go overseas. i need to speak english for starters. plus i don't have a passport and my back would never last that long in a cramped seat on a long flight.

English is still.the dominant language in those states. I was in the bronx and was speaking italian in a bakery, they didn't charge me for the coffee and pastry. I paid for it anyway.

heard traffic on I95N towards NJ from Philly was gridlocked all day Saturday. i thought it was bc of the Sixers home game traffic at 2. Nope apparently some older guy jumped from an overpass onto I95 and died from the fall. His leg was up near his head! the body laid there for hours until someone finally covered him up with a sheet. wow.

i know people have problems. believe me i have a ton. i know society sucks now. i know it's rough out there. i know it's hard and you're feeling all alone. please people reach out to someone. call a hotline. call a brother or buddy. call a priest. someone ! don't jump off an overpass and commit suicide. really sad.

Easter is this Sunday. Man this is the longest Lenten season ever. Lent started late this year and it showed. Last year Easter was April 1st ! I'm taking a half-day off tomorrow and heading to my sisters early to lovely farm country. I love it up there. Beautiful country up there.

For all those who celebrate Easter, have a nice Easter with your families. Be safe and good. Be a little holy can't hurt neither. haha.
