Cat, a shooter with a 10-clip on a handgun shooting moving targets will in most cases (99.9%) not kill 10 different people. You'd have to be an Olympic-grade marksman or a sniper to get that kind of a score, and that's usually done with a rifle (better accuracy than a handgun). Have you even fired any weapons?

I'm not opposed to campus checkpoints, but adding "security detail" to already over-taxed (jobs-wise) and under-paid educators is 100% stupid. Some people around here act like teachers just teach and "LIFE" doesn't really happen to them like the rest of us. Giving teachers weapons is giving a potentially fallible person a firearm... around kids.

    Incident in 1940:
South Pasadena Junior High School murders: Outraged by his dismissal, following conflicts with other staff, thirty-eight-year-old Verlin H. Spencer shot and killed 62-year-old superintendent of the South Pasadena city schools George C. Bush, 50-year-old principal of South Pasadena High School John E. Alman, and 52-year-old School District business manager Will R. Speer. He then attempted to kill Bush's secretary, 32-year-old Dorothea Talbert; she was struck near the shoulder. He later shot and killed 45-year-old art teacher Ruth Sturgeon, with whom he'd been in conflict, fatally wounding her in the chest and, following an intense struggle, 35-year-old mechanical arts teacher Verner V. Vanderlip, another with whom he had a grievance. Spencer was cornered by police as he attempted to escape through the school cafeteria; as one officer aimed, Spencer pressed the .22 caliber automatic pistol against his right side and fired twice, critically wounding himself. Police later found a suicide note from Spencer to his wife, Polly. He survived his wounds and was tried for murder. Pleading guilty to all charges, he received 5 consecutive life terms. He was discharged from California's Department of Correction in 1977, aged 75. Verlin Spencer died January 11, 1991.

halo-I have fired a gun. And I said permit carrying gun owners and not some random teacher with a gun.

your examples of sniper and marksmen are from LONG RANGE. that's why I said a handgun.

how about this - kid walks into glass with a handgun in his jacket. he sits in the back of the class. teacher has her back turned to all students writing on the chalkboard. kid pulls out his pistol quickly and has it pointed, but not touching to the kid's head, in front of him and fires. 1 dead. he turns quickly to the next student to the left and right of the one he just killed. at point blank range, that should be 2 more. (3) total. kids start to scatter or hit the floor. he opens fire on the closest ones to him. logjam at the exit door. bang, bang, bang. he can easily shoot several more in the head or back. so maybe he won't kill 10. I bet he connects 7 or 8 times at the range he had. if he planned it better, maybe all 10 connect. your example of "moving" targets is very hard from a distance and running like deer in a hallway. I'm talking about in a classroom where he is behind everyone else. not that far fetched.

if i won a mega lottery-$200-$400 i would help a lot of people, but not every freeloading cousin i have, which is a lot. i would help key people in the family line. hell some of you guys would get some money. skinny - for helping me get that book and the hockey dvd set, you're first in line for some catfish cash.

since i lost my father in HS and the school offered me 0 tuition help, i would have scholarships for kids like me who lost a parent and need tuition help. i lost my mom when i was in college and they didn't help me either with 0 parents and no financial help, so i would have scholarships for kids on huge financial assistance.

as a aspiring screenwriter, i would look into getting them made by major movie companies. im not talking straight to video crap either, but some of my screenplays are very solid movies. i would look to get them made into movies.

i would have a nice house but nothing insane or gaudy. my only splurge would be a vintage corvette or camaro all supped up and redone.

just found out an old co-worker of mine and golf partner has leukemia. this blows. we used to golf together a lot and we went on a golf trip together to Myrtle Beach. I spent a few Thanksgivings at his house. he's 52 with 3 kids. Now the kind he has is treatable, but not the way you wanna start off your Monday.

When we hit our 50s, we're on borrowed time. I'm sure he'll beat it.
