I wish I had a time machine to go back and tell my younger self about the good, the bad and the ugly about grade school and high school. wow. my grade school had green uniforms. dark green pants. a light green shirt. a heavy dark green sweater and speckled green and white tie. except for St. Patty's Day - we looked idiotic. Now they wear khaki pants, a white collared polo shirt and a light sweater. Come April 1 - no sweater and just a golf shirt and khaki's. figures.

I think the biggest change had to be from the 50s to the 60s, and thank god for that. I've gone through a lifetime of getting yelled at and put on guilt trips from the 50s generation.

that looks fake. it's too close for the tree not to move and for him not to hear it unless he was deaf.

my apologies. I didn't think you were that old initially. hey, you're Birthday is next week isn't it or the week after ? :rally::SEP::dance::cheers:

My Dad fought as a Medic in the Battle of the Bulge. I was the only kid in my grade in grade school to have a Dad fight in WWII. Probably the only kid in the entire school. Everyone else's Dad fought in Korea or Vietnam. so yeah, I know the feeling of hearing about the past from loved ones and what it was like in their time ,etc.

    March.9th is my bday.
My grandfather was born in 1893, I don't know too many people my age that can say that.

wow. I don't know when my Grandparents were born. My Dad parents died before me or my 7 siblings were born. My Moms parents died in the 1980's. My Dad was born in 1922 and he was the last of 6 kids, so I bet his parents were old.

I once met my ex-brother in laws Grandma when I was 12. he was still married to my sister. wow. she was 102 yrs old and smart as a whip. she talked like it was yesterday. She was like "oh the Titanic sinking, I was already out of High School! and had 2 kids by then". I was like "that was in 1912 Grandma Falcone." She laughed at me. She could recall the first modern day Olympics, the start of WWI and the Great Depression. She even talked about President McKinley being assassinated. Wow.

Falcone, was she born in the US?

  12. Catfish Guest

Yeah, that name comes from my parents province. There's a sam falcone here that owns two bakeries. I had a friend that was supposed to marry his daughter. He had a fight with her a week before the wedding and cancelled everything.

Yeah, it's not like he wasn't warned about her. After 8 years of craziness, he still went ahead with it. It had to do with his mother in law disrespecting his mom, not inviting her to the shower.

Now his mom died in 2005 and him in 2012.

My moms aunt was 19 when she arrived in new york in 1920. Her daughter is still alive in new rochelle, she's turning 96 this year.

yeah skinny- crazy shit like that is well crazy. I could've been married 3 times. all 3 would've been disastrous and over in a year. I'm smart. I never got married. I'm a realist and see it for what it is and walked away bf it got worse. I wish I had a married life, but I have no patience for the bullshit. my buddy and his wife squabble over nothing. bf the Super Bowl, she's like "can you go empty out the dishwasher, I'm going to get a shower." ?? You have 2 arms? The dishwasher is waiting for you after your shower. haha. Just little nonsense drives me nuts. I don't know how he's still married. So many needless questions over nothing. Or "what do you want for dinner?" "I don't know." Either pick or go hungry ! That's why I never married. I would kill someone by now if they pulled the shit my buddy's wife does.

to it's taxing and a waste of energy. her birthday passed and he said outloud to me and her, "gift giving is over." haha I was shocked. they don't even exchange for Xmas anymore. it all goes to their 2 kids. that's nuts to me. that's your wife man, your second fiddle, your partner in crime ! hell yeah she gets a xmas and birthday gift.
