Darby is 7-8 miles from me down West Chester Pike Rt 3. That hack Tina Fey went to Upper Darby HS. There are some good HS near there and she went there. baffling. The next town over Haverford. It's nice. i'm 2 towns from there. The movie Silving Linings Playbook was filmed partially in Upper Darby. The diner scene has a plaque noting the movie was filmed there. here's how bad Darby is - all those scenes Jennifer Lawrence is jogging were not in Darby.
Too risky. They filmed it in another town completely. Actor Bradley Cooper grew up not far from Darby or one of the town near there.

I'm sure there's a top 10 for ontario, sarnia and oshawa to name a few.

 

a lot of towns in pa are victims of steel mill closings. 70 years ago they were booming. now they're on hard times.

 

Yeah, Oshawa had layoffs in a couple of car plants. That doesn't excuse some of them for being scum meth addicts.

 

jobs dry up. no money. rent due. old lady ragging on you. no prospects in sight. people turn to drugs for all sorts of reasons but despair due to jobs and city surroundings are a part of it. drugs is their outlet out of the misery and into an abyss of meth bliss. they keep using bc they don't wanna face the reality of their crappy life, so they keep using and stay as far away from their real life as they can and into their cloud of drug euphoria.

 

A lot of those autoworkers are already drug addicts, job or no job. A lot of those meth heads also have never seen an assembly line in their life.

 

glad it's not me. although I had good jobs in philly, they didn't pay all that well and friends told me to leave them. it's not easy finding a job that pays that well. I sent out 300 job applications online in a 3 yr span and got 5 call-backs. I kept changing my resume. had friends change my resume and bubkis. now I left the city, got back $91.50 in city wage taxes off my check and in my pocket and so much happier out of the city. I make a lot more money now, but of course my expenses are higher too. I'm happy with my little life. I wish I had the wife and kids but I see what marriage does to people and none of them are happy - family included. they don't love each other anymore. they stay for the kids. hell my buddy doesn't even take his wife out for her Birthday. he said Birthdays are over. are you kidding me? your ass would be on the couch!

Eagles tix are through the roof right now. standing room only is $550 and up. First level is over $1000. Upper deck is $900 and climbing fast. insanity. I went to the NFC Title game at the Vet-last game at the Vet for $150 !
