It must be an airport cab, I never saw any cabs like that when I was there, the yellow doesn't seem the same either.

Nah. The prop looks about right. Here's a shot of an NYC taxi:

The tones of the "yellow" seem to change every now and then but they still look like American cheese. The sedans are changing to more Hybrid-Toyota-ish cars too. Probably due to emissions tax breaks. They also have SUVs and boxy-style vans too. There are also bright green cabs. You can't flag them down in the "downtown" area of Manhattan. You can catch them way uptown or in the other boroughs.

I haven't been there in a couple of years, they look nicer than I remember

they look nice and clean. way better than the old cabs. i only had 1 cab driver that wasn't Indian or Pakistani. He was a regular white guy from South Philly and I was headed from Center City to South Philly. It was a fun ride for sure.

So far today, I saw 4 NYPD cruisers, and one NYC firetruck, feels like I'm walking down broadway.

Mulberry Street is the location of the best cannolis I've ever had... Cafè Roma. We can do Barbacoa at nearby Tacombi on Elizabeth Street, then hit the cafè.

I just thought you moved up north near the quebec border for work.

That was a temporary assignment. I was doing a project at Dartmouth (9 months), but moved back down here afterwards.

I've been to cafe roma, nice place. Cannolis are a ny staple. When I come home and order one canoli with an espresso, people look at me funny. You usually get people buying up a dozen when they're on their way to visit family.

this place in Philly has them called Termini's. you have one and are awake for 2 days. yummy but wow.

  20. skinny123 Guest

There's a pastry called tiramisu, they put a lot of coffee in there. Termini could be short for that.
