Crack me up. I lost a lot of friends in the high school days to bad disc(blow) music and silk shirts and corduroy
My dad would never allow me to grow my hair long. I finally did when I went to college and then played football for a militaristic coach that banned long hair. And then when I got out of school and started working.....I began going bald so it was be one of those guys that does the comb over or shave my head. I chose the non-pathetic option.
Question.....why is it that country music sounds better when you're drinking?
Slide guitar smoothly translates to the smooth flowing mind. And every other song involves someone trying to get as drunk as the listeners.
True story. When my first marriage was breaking apart faster than the Titanic....my ex-wife was trying hard to get me to go to counseling and I wouldn't for reasons I won't get into. She was a professional psychologist. She comes up with this idea that if we can't go to counseling we should write each other letters and put our feelings into words. So one day I get up to go to work and she she's already gone but she leaves me this cassette tape instead of a letter....she recorded her words....it was 25 minutes of her talking about our relationship and our kids and so forth. I listened to 3 minutes.....then I got out an old record of mine and transferred the following song to the cassette tape for her to listen to later..... I'm a bit of a guitar-head, loved riffing Eddie's stuff as it's some pretty intricate shit. A friend of mine linked me this deep cut a few years back. It's an interesting listen to a band's early stab at an album before they went on to be huge -
The opening guitar riff of this sound is what made me want to play a guitar when I was a kid.
Killer live cut of an underrated Zep tune. Page and Bonham just rip this ridiculous -
We went to see Van Halen at Beginnings in Schamburg right after their first album. After they rocked the joint me and a couple of my friends saw the back stage area and said let's just check it out. Spent the rest of the night partying with those guys because they had all the alcohol in the world back there, nobody even questioned us walking in. Roth was so friggen high he was talking to this chick saying shit like "the birds are flying in the sky and singing in the trees" I was like wtf! Michael Anthony was probably the coolest of them all. When they finally cleared the backstage area we walked out through the empty bar everything was cleaned up and not a soul was in there, and I have no idea what time it was Jack White in any form White Stripes etc. Rocks I also liking Alabama Shakes
Back to the music for drinking segment. Gimme a quart a whatever you got, a bonfire and put Jerry on the box and I'll act a damn fool till the sun comes up or till my ass falls down. Probably both bout the same time -
