oh ok. i thought he was an athletic. back to the answer - there are 2 hints in the movie that will give you the answer if you think about it...
I'll go with Ruth - as a youngster Redford's character struck out a Babe Ruth-like character, The Whammer.
close but no cigar. this player played primarily in the 40's-50's... and you're missing the obvious hint...
jean - when catherine martin is in the well in the basement she captures his dog with a chicken bone. that's when he says "you don't know what pain is!"
yes axe-it's ted williams. here's the hint - hobbs wears #9 - same as williams. that was on purpose as a tribute to williams from redford. and when he tells glenn close "i wanted people say there goes roy hobbs the greatest hitter that ever lived." ted williams always wanted people to say that about him and was pissed when people said it about joe dimaggio.
It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again. One of my favorite actors: Ted Levine.
this is a semi-tough one -- from the first batman movie with michael keaton to the last one with christian bale - how many oscar winning actors or actresses appeared in all the batman movies ? some are cameos... extra pts and beer if you can name them all too... there are 13 of them...
I'll take a stab, guessing he looks to be around 40 in that still (which would put it around 1997) - Mad City?
