After seeing the Bears not care in week 17 and allowing the Packers to limp into the playoffs and later some to Soldier Field and win then go on to win the Superbowl...

From the game winning catches of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb...to the Aaron Rodgers fumble that no one paid attention to that became a touchdown....all the bad Cutler performances....to last year when the Bears couldn't even fucking beat Brett Hundley...

If the Bears come out flat Sunday....if they lose this damn game....I will lose my shit in the worst way possible.

The Bears D played lights out in that game. I dispute the notion that they didn't care. Remember the Packers were on a tear averaging like 40 points in their last 3 or 4 games coming into that game. And we were up 3-0 going into the 4th quarter.

That game was another, but one of the biggest, in the Cutler legacy of failures. And it didn't help that Martz repeatedly kept calling 7 step drop backs which played right into our weaknesses at OT.

But enough bad memories. Time to make some more good memories. Kill them. Kill Rodgers. Kill Rodgers.

The Bears coaches didn't bother changing their calls and audibles for the game...they kept the same gameplan from the first meeting. A lot of veteran players sat out practices that week and after losing the game almost everyone interviewed was very nonchalant.

Maybe saying they didn't care is wrong...but they didn't put much importance on the game at all.

But yeah...moving on and moving forward.

I meant in terms of the playoffs but I get what you’re saying. They need to get up for this game, and for what it’s worth, I think they will.

Found this gem, Hicks hasn’t forgotten:

If nothing else there is zero chance the defense will come out flat.

And, beating the Packers would also mean a legitimate changing of the guard despite seeding. McCarthy is gone, he’s the one who’s had our number.

But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about this one. And ultimately the game is about pride, not playoffs. They say there’s a 4% chance of the playoffs, but I think I read the Redskins have to win out for that to happen? They don’t control their own destiny and they already lost tie breakers to the two current wildcards.

By the same token I can’t wait. FTP.

Is it Sunday yet? I can't wait for this game. It's a pretty interesting game. While for the playoffs it doesn't hold a whole lot. If the Bears lose there are still a lot of clinching scenarios. And if the Bears win, the Packers still actually have a shot in hell in making the playoffs. Seattle and the Giants are the only ones in the wild card hunt that are showing life.

I fully expect the Packers to get the ball out of Rodgers hands as fast as possible. I swear if we see the same quick slants for first downs all game I'm going to lose it.

As we get closer to the playoffs I get more and more uneasy thinking that at some point a game is going to come down to Parkey putting one through the uprights. And I'm not confident about that, at all.

Fuck. Callahan broke a bone in his foot and he's been ruled out for the season.

When we're in the middle of a good season and there's a big game coming up, and of course this happens way too infrequently for us, but I feel as though everything in the week is simply killing time before the next game. Eating, sleeping, working, shagging, whatever it is it's just doing stuff to occupy my mind until the game. It's first-world privilege at its finest.

    Anyone else feel this way?

That sucks. Was really hoping he would finally make it through a full season. Time to see if McManis is ready for the full time gig. He has been good in spot duty.

Yep and I deal with it by reading more and more about the Bears...

I deal with it by antagonizing as many Packers fans as I can.
I will say I've never heard Packers fans more quiet this week after that game Sunday.
This one chick actively avoided me, haha without success. It's not like that's never happened to me with women before hell I'm used to that shit. lol
This chick texts after every Bears loss a Simpsons ha ha! meme, Hell I invited her over to watch the game which I said was Rodgers retirement party and she said "he's retiring" I said no not exactly they are going to kill him. I haven't been this emboldened with this team since 1984 and those few years following. Perhaps I may be a bit premature with my boasting but it sure feels good doing it again. I just hope the Bears don't shit the bed.
