No one could rile that guy up as well as I could.

For real. God it makes me laugh to think of his reactions to you and your very weirdly calm way of responding to him. He was a smart guy but a complete narcissistic sociopath (or narcopath) .

For some reason when you talked of drumlines I always assumed you were a teacher and not some punk kid because I thought you were too damn respectful to be a kid.
Huge credit to your parents on that.

That's very kind of you, and I will pass it on to my mother. She deserves every compliment.

You're not wrong, though - I was both. Up until about 6/7 years ago, I was a performer. Then my body said I had enough. I started teaching at 18, though, so there's almost always been an overlap.

To be honest, talking football with you guys is the only through line in that entire time. I am always appreciative of it.

Really? Cos candywrappers really didn't like you and gave you plenty of shit. He couldn't stand you.

Fuck man i know!! I remember talking to you when you were 18 years old and most of your stories started "so this one time at bandcamp..."!!

    Anyway, how were those 20s?

No i think he was an actual Nazi. He was also one of the guys from my death threats list. Definitely riled him up more than bww did.

Ha! You are absolutely right. F***, that was all I knew. I was good at it, but damn I needed to get out more...

I started suffering from a severe intestinal disease the week I turned 21. So, mixed reviews, at best.

In all seriousness, though - I have met a woman and her son who love me as I am, I have a job that pays me enough to not need another one (though still not enough), and I'm now undergoing treatment for my disease that seems to actually be working. I may have been healthier at 20, but I think I'm ultimately going to be happier at 30. Still six weeks to go, so we'll see...

I remember in my 20s, an older guy telling me, "your 20s suck, you're young sure but you're all over the place, financially uncertain, etc. You get to your 30s and it's much better, you usually have your shit together and can start just enjoying things, buy stuff you want, etc".

I don't know how much I agreed with him at the time, but honestly for me the 30s were a damn good time and the 20s were fucking rough. So good luck dude, I expect the same heh.
