He's so damn uncomfortable in the pocket. Looks like the same guy from last year. Can't count how many times he has left the pocket and ran himself into pressure. Effects his mechanics, he's not throwing in rhythm and the ball is all over the place. And then as if that's not enough he's missing even when he does everything else right. Saw a little improvement in the 2nd half last week. Forced Vegas out of the 5-man front and then we were able to run some. But I'd expect Houston to open up in a similar alignment. Make Pickett beat them.
Im still trying to figure out Watson and Wilson. Im beginning to wonder if they have seen better days. I dont think Watson has had what you could call an awesome game in a bout 3 seasons... its early tho.
You talking the Jets' Wilson? Watson has had moments, but his inconsistent play is going to occasionally bite Cleveland in the ass (see the earlier game against PIT). If he gets into a comfort level in that offense (the defense keeping him on the field will help with that) then the Browns are going to be sitting at the top of that division at some point this year. I'm not sold they hold onto that spot... yet...
Agree with this take. The highlighted part is huge, because he needs to be almost perfect in his mechanics to be effective and efficient for a full 60, IMO. Pickens gets very little separation (reason for the highlight reel catches being necessary) but there was no excuse when Diontae was creating yards and the throw was leading him back into coverage.
Can't say I've watched a ton of Deshaun Watson football BC. Mostly highlight films. Didn't he do a lot of his damage in Houston playing from behind?
I was referring to Russel. Im not liking the under 60% completion thing, but it may be a WR problem too.
Agree. Hoped to see a big jump in Pickens' route running this year. So far not seeing it but they have been so bad on offense it's hard to evaluate. They do really miss Diontae. He's the chain mover.
Oh yes, that was my biggest knock on Cleveland giving him that payday. His numbers were wildly inflated due to playing backyard type passing games late in a contest. Cleveland/Tennessee had him playing more consistently throughout the entire game, so if they can keep that kind of momentum it will be something to build on.
Nice read and throw from Sanders, but I would rather see him step to the side, set his feet and be more disciplined about it. That leaning and backwards motion stuff makes me cringe. lol
Russ has definitely looked better, but that team is so far away from being competitive... It's going to be at least 2025 before the Broncos are in position to go after the Chiefs.
Good route, good read, good throw, and if I'm a general manager there is a note going in the book about how much I would like to get both of those Williams fellas on my roster...
