Lamar's issue wouldn't be so weird for him if it wasn't for the fact he could be tagged again at what would still feel like a discount with how the market is moving and how much lower. He should have made ~$45M but instead is getting $32.4M. Next year it is 120% that is only. $38.9M, then $46.65 on the THIRD YEAR!!!!. Lamar is threatening to hold out the year and honestly... the money says he should seriously consider it because getting tagged again is almost criminal.
DL also getting older and play lots of players. Older as in actually old or contracts soon to expire and maybe not worth paying a ton. On OLine they are getting older and I would want depth. Might even want an OL 1st round but the starting 5 is probably there unless they get someone to play Guard and can move to takle
But shouldn't the market have some say in whether or not he is worth the $45 on the tag, or if he is worth getting a deal similar to Jalen's? Right now, no one has been willing to even entertain taking Jackson off of Baltimore's hands. That has to be a factor when considering contract negotiations. After the draft, if a team is willing to give up a pair of firsts and make an offer, there's still no guarantee that Lamar would sign it. I don't think the leverage on this is working the way some people think. The signing of Odell for me is the kind of appeasement that says "Look, you may not get what you want, but at least we are trying to work with you." From the beginning, this has felt like a situation where the player is hunting a unicorn that simply doesn't exist, and was willing to try and skew public opinion in his favor. I think Baltimore is going to stand their ground here, and Lamar is going to lose out on a lot of money by not having an agent get him paid long before the tag was even a consideration.
I still cant understand Lamar not playing under the non-exclusive franchise tag considering his injuries and even his success over the past 2 seasons. $32.4M is an unimaginable amount of money to me and if he doesnt accept that, i just cant wrap my mind around that.
Just caught this typo, and it made me chuckle out loud. Not calling you out for spelling, kinfolk, just had to point it out. lol
Thats insanity to me, lol. I guess when you already are a millionaire you see things differently. If he sits, it shows to me he's a money grab guy, not so much of a team player or a supporter of his team-mates, which he is in fact screwing by all this non-sense. I will admit, Im ignorant when it comes to the business side of the game, but who needs everything guaranteed when your already a guy with more money than you can burn? Its all crazy and over me head.
lolol. I caught that on my after post read... I said oops, i need to edit that, but you caught me. Thats funny shit right there!
Ive got cheap Vodka lol, thats all I had left. Its 80 proof Kamchatka, like 10 or 12 bucks a 5th. It works!
When i was in the state store a week ago, i was a bit tapped for cash and looked at the prices of Jack and then seen the vodka, I said OH HELL YES... SOLD!
Interesting coincidence - I've been on a Tito's kick, as of late. Drinking doubles, neat in a short glass. Damn mellow buzz and good for conversation.
It should, but I also think the market doesn't care enough to give up assets for him when they can draft someone cheaper and keep their picks. Even if they trade up they like it better. It is weird no one bit but I also wonder if there is some collusion going around not to sign him to reset the market. I also wonder if anyone approached him and he didn't like their terms. The interesting thing is that Hurts signing might actually help as long as he doesn't just say his price went up. Someone might be willing to pay him this year. Maybe something materializes after the draft in some way.
Lamar has made $32,487,652 in his career thus far. He *should* be financially secure at this point. He's trying to get a contract that generates GENERATIONAL wealth. So yeah 32 million would DOUBLE his career earnings. But He should be able to lock in what $120 - 150 million on a long term deal? I get these numbers seem absurd to mere humans. But there are huge risks for him playing on the tag that I wouldn't take if I were him.
I became accustomed to vodka a few years ago and actually use it more than whiskey, Id prefer whiskey, but really have grown to favor the vodka better now. I always chugged whiskey from the bottle. I find with vodka you can be more versatile and do all kinds of alchemy and mixing with it. Its all good, I guess Id probably drink anything with alcohol in it and Im sure i already have, lol.
This is it for me. Jackson looks at the Watson deal and priced himself accordingly. The league was going to REFUSE to give out that kind of deal again. Hurts got that kind of TOTAL money. But NFL does not want fully guaranteed contracts. There is also a rule in place that requires owners to put all guarunteed money in escrow. Even billionaires don't want to tie up 200 million on a QB.
