DENVER -- Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez collected his 1,000th career hit with his second double of Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Reds. Gonzalez lofted a one-out, sixth-inning pitch from Raisel Iglesias that dropped in front of a diving Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton. Noting that second wasn't covered, Gonzalez, a power hitter who used speed earlier in his career before a knee injury in 2014, alertly took second.
John Lackey went through a nasty divorce in 2011 and it really affected his pitching, family issues can really wear on players.

ESPN at it again! Every year they fire people. It was on Schilling's Facebook page. I'd consider this almost a freedom of speech thing that could be taken to court. Now the transgenders are complaining? This country is F'''ed up.........Along with ESPN's CEO......
igloo--this isn't the first time Schilling got in trouble with posts. this is his second or third offense. he had to go. they ESPN as a company have an image and a brand to protect and every time this clown opens his mouth, he endangers it.
Yeah Fish. They have to talk about the NBA all day because they have television rights. No other sports matters until the NFL season. They are anti-NHL because they didn't get the tele rights! I don't consider them with good sports reporting. Unless they have the tele rights......Then they will talk to no end. It's piss poor sports reporting!

Not a fair fight at all. Which is funny because Finnegan took a no hitter into the 7th in Wrigley the first part of the month. The Cubs scored 5 off of him in 4 innings. Bryant added grand slam off the reliever. That isn't even mentioning what Arietta has done.
Arrieta no hits the Reds. Cubs win 16-0. (Like I said, not a fair fight). 1971 was the last time the Reds were no hit in the regular season.

That must have been a day game. Pirates pounded the Padres last night and are actually 4 out today, tied with the Reds behind the Cards........We STILL need some better pitching though!
