Well, A-Rod has changed his mind in 1 day. And has said he will see how 2016 - 17 seasons go before he makes a final decision......He can pass Ruth on the HR list within the next 2 years. But if he quits after the the 17 season then I doubt he would get past Aaron and Bonds......

Tigers down Phillies... CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) ? Detroit outfielder Justin Upton hit his first two home runs in a Tigers uniform in a 6-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Upton, who signed a six-year, $132 million free-agent contract with Detroit in January, entered the day hitting .189 (7-for-37) with one extra base hit, a double, in 15 games this spring. But he launched a two-out, solo home run off of Philadelphia left-hander James Russell in the first inning and then added a second solo shot off of right-hander Luis Garcia in the sixth inning. "Probably the last four days I've started to feel better, more comfortable, everything getting going," Upton said. "It's coming along. ... It's going to come at some point so you just have to stay the course."
Indians OF Brantley won't be ready to start on opening day GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) ? Indians outfielder Michael Brantley will not be in the lineup on opening day despite making major progress following offseason shoulder surgery. Brantley had targeted the April 4 opener against Boston as his return date. However, manager Terry Francona said Sunday that Cleveland's best all-around player is not quite ready and will not be in left field on opening day. "We will let this thing calm down a little bit, then ramp him back up," Francona said. "He's not going to start the season with us as our starting left fielder. He will certainly travel with us. So if that's the case, let's give him a chance to be healthy for the whole year." Brantley, who underwent surgery in November, reported some soreness in his right shoulder after playing in only two exhibition games. He will continue to rest without baseball activities for the time being. There was no timetable for when Brantley will be able to start. _______________ ___________________________ Thats really bad news for the Indians. Brantley was their sparkplug.

Wow, Locke in the starting rotation as hopefully the 5th starter. Why is he there at all? I'm a bit shocked that Taillon or Glasnow couldn't beat him out....... Some teams pretty much have their lineup set. Other teams , Pirates included, are still keeping extra players up. This is why these games don't mean anything. Different teams are doing different things with their young prospects. The more the starters play, the better the chance of injury. And the more the minor leaguer's play, the more experience they get. Thats the way I would look at it. The Pirates are keeping 3 extra players up until Saturday's game before they play the Cards on Sunday and are sent down......
Probably going to depend on how Locke and the 4th starter pitch, Fish......They changed Locke's delivery so he wouldn't turn around so much before he came to the plate. But from what I've seen, it hasn't helped. Which is why I'm shocked. They tried to make him better but I don't see it. So why is he in the starting rotation?
I haven't heard anything about that Fish. But who knows? It could be in the back of their minds......They didn't come out and say anything like they did with Polanco.....
A little on Locke and the situation from the Pittsburgh Gazette. I say their in good shape starting him and then if that doesnt work out they will have arms in the pen that can take the 5th spot. Having those lefty's is really cool too.
They have 3 starting lefties Will. Nicasio has been really good. I can see him as the 4th starter over Locke. Nicasio can also pitch out of the pen. And I think he's much better than Locke.
Well, it sounds like they are going to roll the dice with Locke and I wouldnt be surprised to see Nacasio get the 5 spot while Vogelsong takes to the Pen.
