i just want both leagues using the same rule - dh or not. either both use it or neither.

I like the option and the difference between leagues... thats what sets them apart.

  3. You know what used to set them apart? It was that they were 2 different leagues. Now we have interleague play and 2 sets of rules. We went from no interleague play and 1 set of rules (except midgets being banned from the AL and not NL) and no the 2 league have different rules but play each other. It's stupid.

Agreed. Im not a fan of Inter-League play either.

I grew up with the game having 2 leagues that played 2 styles, similar but different and that, imo, added to the greatness of the WS.

Nowadays they just screw with the 'sacredness' of the game in the name of gain and money.

  5. If it were up to me there would be no inter league play and no divisions. Play every other team in your league 11 times, that's 154 games like there used to be. Best record in the AL plays best record in the NL and it's as simple as that. It'll never happen but that's my preference.

love the idea, but too much tv playoff money at risk. hell the lack of 8 regular season games would make owners cry and bitch!

the season is too long and they won't play double-headers unless forced due to weather.

make it shorter, make the play double-headers, have less playoff teams and have this thing end in october and not november!

inter-league ran it's course. i don't care in a AL team comes to Philly. Its just a baseball team to me!

I like the divisional format. I think its neccessary with so many teams in the League. I like the Divisional Playoff format except for the 1 game stuff.

If they are worried so much about money, which we all know they are, take some regular season games off the slate and replace those with more than a 1-game WC..... *YES*

  10. I am not for more double headers because that would mean more off days. If you didn't add the off days you'd have to go to 6-man rotations and I don't want that either.

    Astros -3, Yankees - 0

more off days to start the playoffs sooner! try sitting in late october in freezing rain to watch the World Series. It blows.

  13. I've been to cold October games, there's electricity in the air.

    oct 5 - yes...oct 20th-30th - yes but freaking cold!

yesterday was halladay's anniversary of his playoff no hitter. the crowd was amazing. by the 9th i was high fiving and hugging people i didn't know. once he got the final out on phillips, it was mayhem! totally awesome!

Agreed. Move it back to a 154-game schedule, re-introduce Sunday double-headers.

While I'm okay with 5 teams making the playoffs in each league, I wouldn't be crushed if they dropped it to 4.

  18. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Untrue. They used to have Sunday double-headers all the time and FOUR-man rotations.

  19. axe, don't quote me on this, but i'm guessing those common doubleheaders with 4 man rotations precede the era of pitch counts and other fetishes that were never an issue in the past.

    Quite an astute guess...! :D
