Not surprising Cubs and Pirates split the DH and score the same amount of runs on the day. More surprising was Madden letting Lester pitch the 8th and 9th after a 7th inning struggle. It paid off as Lester was on fire the last 2 innings.
Cubs beat the Pirates in 12. Houston goes head-to-head with Texas and gets their hats handed to them... 14-3. Rangers didnt quit did they? Blue Jays keep winning also.
The Rockies and Dodgers combined to use 58 total players and 24 pitchers in Tuesday night's 16 inning game, both major-league records.......
i saw a stat where toronto is 25 wins or 25-5 after the all-star break or some crazy w-l ratio... amazing...
Cubs take 3 of 4 from the Pirates. Pirates lose Kang for the rest of the year. I haven't seen the Kang/Coghlan collision. Was it just baseball or was it dirty?
Just an unfortunate baseball play most are saying... Looks like a cheap shot to me tho...
wtf, lol - season ending surgery??? note to whoever wrote that - i'm pretty sure the injury already ended his season. *WALL*
After I looked at it, I don't think he meant to hurt Kang, because I don't think that is the type of player Chris is. But I do this it was a bad decision. Kang was well off the bag. Yes you try to break up a DP, but I don't know. Bad timing for Kang to get hurt that badly.
Cubs beat Cards 8-3. Lynn terrible against Cubs lefties. Harren was Harren, but Cubs bullpen seems to have found their mojo again. Castro had 6 RBIs ... and lifted in 7th for a defensive replacement. His defense sucks, but I love Baez at 3rd. I think Soler becomes odd man out. He can't seem to stay healthy and his D doesn't seem to be an upgrade over Bryant.
I watched the game and thought it was a good play. Kang had plenty of time to jump and didn't. Don't ask me why. It wasn't a double play ball anyways. Couglin just tried to break up a double play and I saw no intent. It's going to hurt not having him in the lineup. No question about it......Now the Bucs are at the Dodgers facing Greinke and Kershaw. With Locke on the mound tonight? Yikes! I don't know why Hurdle doesn't put him in the bullpen? We have 5 starters ever since the Bucs picked up Happ.....
speaking of hot teams...the texas rangers. once thought to be playing for next year...hmm. they get hamels, they get hot and are now in first place in the west. amazing how landing hamels has turned their fortunes around... hahahaha
Astros with a much needed comeback victory. If they lost they would have only been a half game ahead of the Angels for the 2nd wildcard spot. That 2nd wildcard spot is crowded though. Astros, Angels, Twins, Indians and Orioles. Thanks to teams losing Seattle, Boston, Chicago heck everyone but Oakland is still alive in the wildcard picture if they can get hot.
