Saying "Good!" indicates happiness or pleasure over a result or situation. Saying "Good for you!" or "Good for them" is merely congratulating someone for a job well done.
I disagree..... Edit: Not when referring to a football team that wins and that team you really don't care about. Edit: "Good" can be used in the same fashion as a person completing a job. Not happiness because the job is done. The same thing somebody could say like "good for them".....They both have virtually the same meaning to me.....I say good all of the time and it doesn't necessarily mean I'm happy evertime I say it.....Are you making stuff up from your own mind?
Iggy - You are entitled to your opinion and you can believe what you want... no one is trying to convince you of the opposite. The 'good for them' phrase i used was strictly congratulatory... nothing else but. I dont get caught up in Nationality Wars over kids playing a game. Those kids had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor, lol. If i were to root for them as you insinuate... isnt that my prerogative?
Well, we have our own different meanings.....I'm not trying to tell you what to think....You and Axe have a different meaning than Fish and I..... *OK*
Reds 1B Joey Votto suspended 2 games, fined for his actions during Wednesday's game. Votto will appeal...
