About a week ago i was writing how well the Cubs and Arrieta were doing with Arrieta having 16 Wins... well; he now has one of these...

    Win #17 and it was a NO-NO !

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta had taken no-hitters deep into games before, but he never had previously completed the feat. He did so Sunday night in Los Angeles, taking down the Dodgers, 2-0.

The only runners Arrieta allowed came via an error on second baseman Starlin Castro and a walk to Jimmy Rollins. Otherwise, Arrieta was perfect.

Boo. Never cheer for the non-Americans! I'm from PA so I was cheering for Lewisberry!

i watched the game. why didn't PA have any other pitchers? I guess they blew their wad getting to the finals because that kid who needed a haircut stunk. no offense but up 8-0 and within 2 innings it was 11-10! He was wild and when he had to get on across the plate they smoked his ass. then they bring in the coaches son in the 6th and he allows 5 more runs. up 8-0 and you can't win?

and how the hell can a team who hasn't lost in 4 months all of a sudden can't hit a relief pitcher who throws off-speed junk? baffling.

and finally please move the fences back. Japan had 4 check-swing HRs. The fence dimensions are a joke! yeah i know they play by Little League Rules, but it's a joke. When you check swing and get a HR 4 times, it's time to move the fences back. This goes for both teams. I watched many games in the last month and the fences and with the aluminum bats and the kids sizes the stadiums are just too small. see ya in 2016.

I was cheering for Lewisberry. I said; good for them: to congratulate them. I dont care where they came from, they didnt give up and they beat Goliath... 'Good For Them !

the announcers say how Japan picks their team. It's like English League soccer and picks 5 yr olds and sends them to basically a school that's an academy and baseball is all they do after school etc. by the time they are eligible they are like the Russian Red Army Hockey team.

No wonder they win all the time. The relief pitcher was great. He threw junk and they swung at it every time.

1-2-3 strikes your out. 1-2-3 strikes your out. 1-2-3 strikes your out. pfffffff

chinese taipei had to forfeit titles as they were 15 yr olds on some teams. they pulled a danny alamonte before he did.

"Good for them" sounds like your rooting for that team......It's okay to congrats a team, but "good for them" doesn't sound like a congrats....And like you said, they all cheat one or another, the way the Americans play ball......

And I don't consider Ichiro having 3,000 hits when they weren't all in the Major Leagues, just my opinion.....He broke Sisler's record for most hits in a season (262) in the Majors awhile back and I concede that but not the 3,000 Hit Club, sorry.....

Screw it Iggy and Cat. You think you know whats on my mind, but you dont.

Im going to walk away now and let it go...

    Find your quarrels elsewhere.

igloo--haha. you're mistaken. if they counted his Japanese hit total he would have over 4000 hits and he just passed Cobb for second most hits ever.

his MLB total is 75 hits away from 3000. they were all in the Major Leagues so when he gets it, he will be a real member of the 3000 hit club like the others!

MLB doesn't count the records of outside leagues or that Japanese guy Sadaharu Oh would be the HR King as he has over 800 hrs.

Weren't trying to be quarrelsome Will. Was just dissecting the way you worded it. I get some of my posts dissected all the time...... *OK*

  18. Catfish Guest

igloo-speaking of posts, did you see mine about ichiro ? his hit total is all from the mlb and not the Japanese league. 75 hits to go...

Will worded it fine. There's a difference between saying "Good!" and "good for them!"
