as for landscapers - fuck that. it costs me about 5 bucks in gas to mow the 3 acres. how much do u suppose i'd be paying a landscaper to do that?

it's no effort to drive the tractor around, i don't mind it at all. i can't stop myself from getting old, but i can avoid getting old and feeble. i intend to follow in jack lalane's footsteps - altho i must say, he is/was more ripped than i am. point being, i'm not interested in life as an old guy who needs everything done for him. i intend to stay active to the end. mowing my own lawn is the least of it

 

well i hope you have a cooler on the mower somehow and some music in your ears to drown out the mower sounds.

 

no cooler, i can always stop and walk back inside for something to drink. roughly halfway thru, the pattern i use to mow causes me to need to stop and move the picnic table, so that's a common point to grab a drink and maybe roll one

no music either - i wear a pair of ear protectors with the highest noise reduction rating i could find - 37 dbs.

 

in fact, i like the ear protectors so much, i'm thinking about ordering a second pair so i can just leave one pair in the pole barn and the other in the basement for using the grinder and miter saw.
