yeah Epstein needs to figure out how to get him on that opening day roster, their talking about not keeping him and thats just stupid IMO. hes gonna be a stud and what they have at 3rd now is a joke. hes the best minor league player Ive seen in years
It has something to do with either Bryant's contract or how the MLB handles the distinction between a designated minor league/pro player. There is a severe increase on what the Cubs will have to pay him if he is on the opening day roster as compared to if he comes up at around 2 months into the season. If I have a moment later today I will look it up.
Not sure how take this? Good or bad? It could mean letting too many players on base or pitching more innings than others? He didin't have his usual great year after he was traded either......
His ability to pitch with a rubber arm is his best asset. He's not a skutdown pitcher, but will always have you in a ball game. I say; Good.
If the Cubs wait until 12 das after opening day then they can bring Bryant up and hold his clock back 1 year, this will give them 1 more year before he hits arbitration and therefore 1 more year of club control. In my opinion they would have to be morons to let him play opening day.
Arquimedes Caminero, Pittsburgh Pirates, struck out four batters in his 2.0 innings of work today and has now whiffed a team-high 16 batters in 10.0ip. Sounds pretty impressive to me. Hell of a name...
Never heard of him Will. Might be a non-roster invite? I know the guy that was pitching the other day was bombed by the Astros. Another non-roster invite? Hope he NEVER makes the club, he couldn't get his grandmother out..... Nice picture of PNC Park Will, But there seems to be a lot of them around these days. Everybody is building new stadiums.....We do appreciate the picture though, of course, haha
Damn, I should of went to that Sunday NCAA Tourney at the Cosol Energy Center downtown (Penguins Arena). Was thinking about it. Villanova upset in the 1st game and the last game of the night into an OT thriller......... :|
... and maybe if you stood there crying, you could have been on the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show. You lost out buddy... hesitation will kill ya every time.
this I didnt know, good stuff. Now my guarantee isnt worth a shit, I told Bob he'd be on the oprning day roster - no way he wouldnt. oh well Im sure he wont remember anyway. On that 13th day he better be sitting at the front door of Wrigley
bryant may not even start the season in the majors due to control years and money. i get the premise of this but bryant just isn't a typical prospect. he's a superstar.
