I see one amendment that’s going to be needed to those new rules right off...any time a pitcher leaves a game before his three batters for injury should include an automatic 15 day IL placement. Could be a lot of LOOGY’s getting owies after one batter otherwise.

Ump leaves game in the middle of a youth baseball for getting berated. Good for him. These parents in ALL sports are out of control. My buddy coaches at a HS that cost $50,000 to attend. It's a very private and prestigious school. First day of soccer practice, some parents were near the field. He told them "you stay on this line of the field and me and your kids are on that line of the field." "Don't cross the line." Parents were offended but he was right. Parents walking on the field at half-time and before the game. Stay off the field and on your sidelines. And stop bashing the coaches, referees and umpires! You are ruining it for them and everyone else.

 

I get his frustration and those parents are abhorrent and should be ashamed of themselves and I would say good for him for ending the game, but he did not go about it the right way. He never should’ve addressed the parents directly. Talk to the coaches and warn them that if they can’t rein the parents in you’re going to call the game first. If it continues, then you tell the coaches the game’s over. If you let your emotions take over like that you’re not really handling things any better than the a-hole parents, and in that role you need to be better than the a-hole parents.

 

who knows how long this went on for ? the clip only is a few seconds. i agree warn the coaches first, but maybe he just had enough and that was the final straw. that will teach the parent's to mind themselves next time. the one parent yells out "stay professional for the kids." what about the parents? fuck you. then once he was in the parking lot a parent says "what a jerk!" no wonder he left. they don't get it.

some nut wrote an article saying the Phils would take on David Price's remaining $97 million dollar contract, add in their top 3 prospects and get Price and Betts back in return! No way that happens. Boston isn't that dumb and David Price couldn't get me out and his 4.97 ERA blows. Pass.

Phils have 5 decent to solid prospects left. Are they "top?" I think 2 are but many reporters say they're all average. I don't get that at all when Bohm is near the top of all the scouting reports. So is Garcia. Who knows at this point ?
