He has made some bad contract moves and mostly chose not to make moves when he should have, maybe. Bottom line is, in my opinion, the Yankees got him fired.
I don’t really get the Dombo move. You want to look at the luxury tax issues? Pablo Sandoval Rusney Castillo Dustin Pedroia That’s $46mm in dead CBT value on this year’s books from bad contracts signed by Ben Cherington. They’d be way under the threshhold otherwise. I don’t even mind the bullpen non-moves (though if they were gonna end up over the limit anyway might as well have held onto Kimbrel, but he sucked this year, too, so maybe he wasn’t wrong about that one). If you want to hang him about building this year’s roster, it would be the lack of organizational rotation depth...when Sale had a down year, Porcello sucked whale nuts, Eovaldi got hurt again, and Price kept spraining his vag, they didn’t have anyone else to fill the void, which strained the bullpen even more. I think he did more than enough (Sale trade, Martinez signing, Bogaerts extension, etc.) to earn the chance to see what he could do next year with a lot of bad deals off the books. I don’t know who they think they’re going to get that’s an upgrade. Maybe he was tapping Linda Pizzuti or something, IDK.
Could we have a Tampa Bay, Milwaukee Series... that would be different. Long way to go, tho. I just want anybody in there from the AL other than the NY Yankees.
besides Guerrero Jr, Toronto has a couple of young players, who are sons of former players. Bo Bichette is doing well too and Biggio.
I really thought he would end the season on a real high note. I had him hitting 5 hrs this month, can't believe it. I went off on a random stranger last week wearing a vladdy jersey, the guy just put his arms in the air lol.
it's a long ass grind man. 162 games + travel. and he came from the minors too, so he played down there and rode buses and crap. players get burnt out.
We can't put a face to the curse, we're just going with a picture of a catfish that comes from a suburb outside of Philly lol.
