Twins sign Michael Pineda to a two-year, $10 million deal

 

Marc Carig of Newsday reports that the Mets have signed reliever Anthony Swarzak. It’s a two-year, $14 million deal, pending a physical.

Swarzak is an eight-year big league veteran who pitched for the White Sox and Brewers in 2017, posting a 2.33 ERA in 70 games. The righty struck out 10.6 batters per nine innings while walking 2.6. It was a really nice year and he’s a really nice pickup for the Mets, even if he is a fallback choice after they failed to sign Bryan Shaw.

yeah bc the idiotic phillies had the price on C. Hernandez too damn high and LA balked. they do this all the time. unreal.

 

teams making offers on machado. no idea why anyone would give up top prospects when there's no extension on the table. teams can negotiate one for 48 hrs but they must still give up prospects if they can't come to terms. the hell with that. I want a guarantee Chris Farley that if a deal was made, Manny would sign an extension. St. Louis, Philly and Chi Sox are favorites to land Machado currently.

 

Nice to see OAK was able to work out a deal for Piscotty...read he's from there and his mom was just diagnosed with ALS so now he'll be able to be close to her more of the year.
