https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...er-and-the-babe-shaped-the-1932-world-series/ a long but very interesting read,....
adding on to what Will posted about the new MLB: Ringolsby lays out an East Division that would include the Phillies, Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Miami, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Washington. North: Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Minnesota, Montreal, New York Mets, New York Yankees and Toronto. Midwest: Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Colorado, Houston, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Texas. West: Anaheim, Arizona, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle. The realignment is being discussed to cut down on travel, particularly for teams on both coasts and add natural rivalries. It also would allow for a 156-game season and at least one day off a week for each team. Ringolsby also writes that Montreal and Portland, Ore. are the two leading candidates for expansion teams. The playoffs, according to Ringolsby, would include eight teams with the best records vs each other. Those 4 winners would play the 4 divisional champs. Then it's the best 4 teams left and then the World Series.
With Kershaw going tonight, I think this series with the Dodgers and Cubs is over. I wanted it to go 7, but that looks doubtful.
^^not me - send the cubbies packing on their own turf ! break out the bubbly in their stadium! go Dodgers. The Astros were 2 innings away from being up 3-1. Now they're down 3-2! Yikes. I think they spent their powder. It's over for the 'Stros.
It was the Enrique Hernandez Show on Thursday night as the outfielder hit three home runs to lead the Dodgers past the Cubs 11-1 to win the NL pennant.
