There was an article titled "Harper destined to be a Yankee". I didn't read it but if he did that would be another reason to hate the Yankees considering he's such an ass. He already came out this year when he and the team were on a major hot streak and said they will win the WS......Please don't be humble Harper! If the Pirates were in their division, they'd be just about tied with them......
Harper wouldn't fit in as a Yankee. The Yanks are business like in presentation (no beards and whatnot) and Harper spends a half hour on his hair before every game. Maybe they'd be the perfect mismatch for each other and it wouldn't work well at all, I could go for that.
since you know everything igloo, i thought you would know the answer. he has 3. varitek has 4. Posey joins several catchers in being one no-hitter shy of the all-time major league record held by former Red Sox backstop Jason Varitek, according to MLB.com. Varitek caught no-hitters from Hideo Nomo in 2001, Derek Lowe in 2002, Clay Buchholz in 2007, and Jon Lester in 2008. The 28-year-old Posey is a former National League MVP and widely regarded as the best all-around catcher in baseball. He was playing first base last June when Tim Lincecum threw a no-hitter for San Francisco, but he caught Lincecum?s first no-no in 2013, as well as Matt Cain?s perfect game in 2012.
Nobody knows everything Fish! Especially when you start getting older. Then you start forgetting stuff on top of it.....
I used to know a ton of hockey and football trivia way back in the late 90's. Didn't play the baseball trivia much so not as good. Anyways, I forgot most of the stuff I used to know. And I knew a ton, but I guess you can only remember a ton of questions and answers for only so long.......Eventually it's too much stuff to keep up on over 15 years ago.....
yeah that's why i use a site called sporcle.com to keep my memory fresh. it's 100% free and fun to use and play memory games with. highly recommended.
Just typed this up during the rain delay in the Royals/Cardinals game. Let me know what you think. http://live4sportnetwork.com/frontend/dh-compromise/
I understand what your saying, but it would never fly, lol. One of the differentials between the Leagues is the DH and i like that. I really like having the best of both worlds... the strategy of the NL and the hit happy, keep them in the League forever, AL. Good article and well stated and written.
being an nl fan all my life as the phils are my team, i would like to see a dh i guess. the pitchers stink at hitting.
There was just a tweet a few minutes ago on the MLBN that Cole Hamels was traded to the Dodgers. Nothing else on it at the moment or if it's even true. cBS has nothing yet either........Fish, they said the other night that it was a good thing Cole wasn't facing Cole in the same game?
Don't like it. Pitchers do hit on occasion (very special occasions), Call me old fashioned but I like the strategy part of the game. It gives the manager something to think about in the late innings......
ST. LOUIS -- The FBI and Justice Department are investigating the St. Louis Cardinals for allegedly obtaining unauthorized access to the Houston Astros' computer system, which includes proprietary information regarding player personnel and evaluation. "Major League Baseball has been aware of and has fully cooperated with the federal investigation into the illegal breach of the Astros' baseball operations database," the league said in a statement. "Once the investigative process has been completed by federal law enforcement officials, we will evaluate the next steps and will make decisions promptly." The bureau, according to a report in The New York Times, has discovered evidence that Cardinals employees improperly entered an Astros network that contained databases, internal discussions of trades, and scouting reports. Cardinals officials, according to law enforcement sources cited in the report, were believed to have done so by trying passwords that Luhnow and other Houston front-office members had used while with the Cardinals organization. "The Houston Astros are actively cooperating with an ongoing federal investigation. We cannot comment on this matter," the Astros said in a statement. The Cardinals issued the following statement: "The St. Louis Cardinals are aware of the investigation into the security breach of the Houston Astros' database. The team has fully cooperated with the investigation and will continue to do so. Given that this is an ongoing federal investigation, it is not appropriate for us to comment further." Investigators did not say which individuals in the Cardinals organization were involved, according to the report, or if any high-ranking Cardinals officials were aware of the action or authorized it. Before becoming general manager of the Astros, Jeff Luhnow worked for the Cardinals as assistant to present Cardinals GM John Mozeliak. Since being hired by Houston in 2011, Luhnow has orchestrated a complete turnaround of the organization; the Astros entered play on Tuesday leading the American League West by 2 1/2 games. "Whatever team I've been on has always focused on themselves and what we're trying to do," Luhnow told reporters on Tuesday. "Obviously, from the baseball perspective, we'll deal with the baseball, and all other questions will go elsewhere." The Cardinals also remain successful, entering Tuesday atop the National League Central by six games. "Where we are right now is we don't know any more than anybody else," said Cardinals manager Mike Matheny, speaking on behalf of his coaching staff and players. "Right now, we just go about our business and realize this is something that is being dealt with." Matheny said he was unaware the Cardinals were being investigated until a front-office member pulled him out of the workout room on Tuesday morning to alert him of the coming Times report. Matheny, speaking about 90 minutes after the story was published, had still not read the article. "You guys are more informed than I am, and once again, I'm fine with that," Matheny said. "I'll get the pertinent information when that time comes and when it's appropriate. Right now, we have to prepare for a baseball game. We don't know how to react at all until we have more information, so we don't. The way to react is to prepare for a baseball game."(MLB)
