Sale didn't hit Machado, he threw behind him. Sale isn't Matt Barnes, Sale isn't Eddie Rodriguez...if he wanted to hit Machado, he'd've been hit. That was another Manny Dink Tax...this round would've ended when they hit Mookie Monday night, but instead Captain Dinktastic re-started things by slow-trotting his HR later that night.

Honestly, this toolbag doesn't play the game the right way. Ever. Slow trots, posing on routine flyballs, hitting catchers in the head on the backswing and laughing at them, ffs the guy THREW A BAT AT A FIELDER IN THE MIDDLE OF A LIVE PLAY! And he has the audacity to cry like a bitch when he draws retaliation? He basically admitted last night the only reason he doesn't go out to the mound and beat guys with his bat is because he doesn't want to get suspended for the rest of the season. He has easily displaced Clemens as the most unlikable douchebag in MLB I've ever seen. Far as I'm concerned, someone should throw at him every damn night until he shuts his stupid piehole and starts acting like a professional on and off the field. Incredible talent but my God what a self-important POS.

so how long have you hated manny for ?

  5. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

Since the sh!t with the A's three years ago, at least.

  6. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

I'll walk back the part about being worse than Clemens, at least...but he's definitely firmly in the conversation for the top spot.

that's a lot of resentment. perhaps a nice couch will make you feel better?

That much douchebaggery deserves that much resentment. I feel great about it. I'd much rather have my most-hated player be on a top rival than on my own team (like when Clemens was here lol).

i assume you're referring to his red sox days? i don't think he was a douchebag till he left boston. more like his yankees and astros days.

  10. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

Oh yeah he was insufferable from early on, crying about having to carry his bags through the airport, where his wife's free seats were, having a marked propensity for peeing down his leg in big games and then blaming it on some nebulous physical malady afterward. God I couldn't stand him...I wll freely admit to thoroughly enjoying the schadenfreude that came with all the McNamee stuff.

    never heard any of this.

peeing down his leg and peeing his pants? when did this happen? i mean when they show replays of his days at UT and playing for a NCAA title and his 2 (20) K games he had the look of the Terminator, not some sissy la la fairy.

And sorry but to financially take care of McNamee for years and have him turn on you and keep old syringes is a dick move. McNamee is nothing more than a rat fink backstabber. he deserves the meat locker or worse!

  12. Underdog Franchise Player Patriots

McNamee being a rat fink backstabber doesn't mean Clemens wasn't a rat fink cheater. No sympathy.

Report: Sale likely to be disciplined; MLB warns Red Sox, Orioles about their feud
MLB warned the Red Sox and Orioles that they will be disciplined if they continue throwing at each other..

In the wake of Chris Sale throwing behind Manny Machado, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred held a conference call with the managers of both teams and warned them not to continue this feud, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Sale is likely to be disciplined in some form, possibly a suspension.

Here is what Joe Torre, MLB's chief baseball officer, told Rosenthal:

"One issue is the fact they've played each other so often. Once something happens, then it just seems to grow and fester and all that. Basically, in trying to keep score on who owes or who what, we figured there was enough going on with both sides that we basically just had a phone call today to let them know we want to play baseball. We don't want to get anybody hurt.

"Players deserve to be on the field. We appreciate your passion but we certainly need to have the focus on playing games instead of trying to get even, if somebody thinks they need to get even.

"Sitting in an impartial seat, you look at it and realize enough is enough. I know if you wear a uniform, you're always feeling that you're on the short end of it. I understand that feeling. But the commissioner made his point, without going into specifics, just about getting down to baseball. If this stuff continues, there will be some discipline."

i never said he wasn't, but clemens took care of McNamee and that was his reward ... for his buddy to be collecting syringes and cotton swabs to hold onto for years? What a creep!

The perils of zero tolerance policies. Warnings had been issued, phone calls had been made...if the ump lets that go and then a Sox pitcher drills an O's hitter later, he's the one in the shit with the league.

No honor among thieves. Birds of a feather. Lie down with dogs, don't be surprised when you get fleas. Pick your favorite cliche. Clemens is a dirty scumbag who associated with dirty scumbags for years and it eventually bit him in the ass. Boo hoo.

OK, so he's less of a scumbag than McNamee. Good for him, I guess?

(and FTR much as I hate him, he should be in Cooperstown)

bf sale pitched, he got warned. the o's guy last night wasn't warned and i don't think it was intentional. he wouldn't throw a curve ball if he meant to hit someone.
