You're going to games, you're part of the "we," yes. Watch games on TV, listen to games on radio, buy merch, buy products from sponsors, you're part of it. We're all part of it. Basic economics...if there wasn't so much money coming in, the players wouldn't get paid so much.
i was kidding u-dog. i know where the money comes from! and cable tv packages are big too. im going to 3 games to get on the phils tix list so when they are good again hopefully in 2018 or 2019, i won't be on a waiting list life bf. getting 3 games now gets me on the inside for tix dibs in 18 and 19 and beyond. i can afford 3 games a year. phils tix are the best priced tix in philly compared to the thieves of the eagles and flyers. jeez.
The Rangers have wrapped up an agreement to re-sign one-time star slugger Josh Hamilton, per Jon Heyman of Fan Rag (via Twitter). A deal has been expected since late in 2016. Hamilton?s minor-league pact will give him the right to opt out on April 1 if he has not yet been added to the MLB roster.
I like him... he's a pure talent, just has problems with substances and I can relate. Hope he gets a chance and can figure out MLB pitching again. Wish him the best... he's a good dude.
not sure if hamilton can come back. he seems lost the last few years. i read he got divorced and his ex-wife when the ex-wife was the only one bs his grandma to support him through his drug stints after he was out of baseball. Not sure if he has the support system around him to succeed. i do wish him well however.
The Blue Jays have agreed to a deal with free-agent outfielder Jose Bautista, according to reports from Baseball Prospectus Toronto (Twitter link) and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). It?s a one-year deal that includes at least one mutual option, and could reportedly extend to three total seasons in duration. Bautista will receive a guarantee that exceeds the $17.2MM qualifying offer value, per Jon Heyman of Fan Rag (via Twitter), assuming he passes his physical.
Jays odds have jumped to #1 Wildcard. Boston is still considered the heavy AL favourite although I think they may have regressed with their moves. Jays likely regressed some but the team will be a bit better on defence and we'll see how Morales and the offence plays. The Indians are the team to beat IMO. They were great and got better. The Jays window didn't slam shut. They need to make a few minor moves but their window is still open. Losing Edwin and Saunders (who was crap after AS break) was never changing that on paper at least.
Bagwell, Pudge, Raines elected to Hall of Fame For Jeff Bagwell and Tim Raines, a long wait has ended. For Ivan Rodriguez, there was no wait at all. Those three players will be part of the Hall of Fame's Class of 2017, taking their place alongside the game's legends in Cooperstown, N.Y., on July 30, alongside Commissioner Emeritus Bud Selig and Braves vice chairman John Schuerholz.

The Brewers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with free-agent right-hander Neftali Feliz, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (Twitter links). Mark Trumbo signs three-year, $37.5 million contract with?Orioles Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that free agent 1B/OF Mark Trumbo is close to a deal with the Orioles. He first reported that the two sides were back in touch earlier on Thursday afternoon. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the deal is expected to be for three years and under $40 million. Trumbo?s market hasn?t developed as he expected. The slugger turned down the Orioles? $17.2 million qualifying offer back in November. Then the Orioles reportedly made a four-year contract offer to him in December but pulled it off the table. Most recently, a report indicated that Trumbo lowered his expectations to a three-year deal in the $40-50 million range. Trumbo, 31, led the majors with 47 homers for the Orioles this past season. He also hit a solid .256/.316/.433 with 108 RBI in 667 plate appearances. With Trumbo back in the fold and some slight offensive upgrades made, the Orioles figure to have a formidable offense in 2017.
