Red Sox salary dump Clay Buchholz on the Phillies. So much for not trading a starter just to clear a spot, eh Dave?

 

You know nobody dislikes Buchholz more than me, but I find it hard to believe in this market that a defensively suspect undersized 23 year old 2B that hasn't played above A ball was the best they could get for him. Why even bother picking his option up?

 

The Pirates signed pitcher Daniel Hudson to a two-year, $11 million contract on Monday.

 

DD does some head scratching things at times.

 

if Clay can turn it around by July, the Phils can ship him and Hellickson out of town for something better than that slop we sent Boston for him. THe move is a tiny one but could be big if he works out. little risk/high reward.

 

just got a 3 game tix plan for the phils in 17. wanted to get in now bf they got good again and sold out like from 07-13 where there was a waiting list etc. got 1b side tix for the cubs, red sox and dodgers. not too shabby.

Nova had an excellent second half after being traded to the Pirates. The Pirates may have gotten a bargain.

 

Book this - he will win 12 games by the break and make the AS team for you guys, you'll get a great return for him at the deadline from some team in the pennant race, and he'll pitch 3 innings in his first start for that team before spraining his lady parts and missing the rest of the season except for maybe 1 start after his new team is eliminated.

 

u dog. I love that idea. any help is help so trading helly and buch is ok by me. plus the phils need sp help anyways, so why not give him a chance? they're bringing up help in the outfield and catcher this year, so the wheels are turning...

The jays had a deal for 4 years @80M, I guess his agent knows best, he cost him $20M.

 

The A's even offered more, but he chose Cleveland. Probably thinks he has a better chance of winning there.

 

Santa comes early to the tribe! Wow, great signing. I would need to talk to my agent if he cost me $20 million. Can you imagine. Us working stiffs and he's turning down $20 million! wow.

 

I think the A's offered 3 years @ $75M with a buyout option in the first year, not that great of an offer.

 

Dodgers officially re-sign Turner to four-year, $64 million deal ...
