saw an article that the Yankees with all of their new prospects from dealing 4 players in July could lead to a trade for Mike Trout as they have the prospects to make LA happy. Well so does the Phillies, Cubs, Red Sox and Dodgers. The article was just speculation, but come on, the Yankees need to win and many of these newly acquired prospects will help for years to come. They make it seem like the Yankees are the only team that could pull this off when a few others could too...

Question is... would the Angles even entertain the thought of trading trout at this point in his career?

His salary jumps to $33MM per in 2018...if they're going to do it, this offseason would be the window to do it to get the maximum return.

That said, they've got some big deals coming off the books this year...they should probably be thinking about trying to build around him first and foremost.

I tend to agree. Its a boat load of money, but if anyone in the League was worth it, it would be Trout. Building around him is what I would do, but the offers coming in might be worth a look.

    Interesting anyway.

that's easy bc their minor league system stinks and is ranked 28th. their current team isn't getting any better with trout, or with pujols, so getting 5 A1 guys for him and rebuilding now is far better than seeing him walk to F/A in 2020!

people are up in arms over the AL Cy Young as Porcillo didn't even have the most 1st place votes and he still won the award. I think that only happened once before in the history of the award. Wow.

I am more stunned that Scherzer won the NL Cy Young over Lester. All 3 were deserving, but I thought it was Lester's year.

Is it "people," or just Kate Upton that's up in arms lol?

  8. Catfish Guest

2 voters didn't even have verlander on their ballots. that alone cost him the award.

Just Kate Upton! If you go back a page or 2, I think you'll see that Fish and I thought Verlander shouldn't even be considered. Those must of been the 2 that were left off the ballots........ :D

I imagine she'd've gone full Miko in any scenario where her guy didn't win, even if all the ballots were completely filled out. I mean she lets the guy drop a batch on her and videotape it...it must be love.

    what? when was this>?

  12. Catfish Guest

i changed my mind igloo. after seeing his entire 2016 stats - he should've been up for it and probably won it. to not be on 2 ballots when others were, who were not in the top 4 voting is suspect to me.

Trout finally wins #2. Could have 4 or 5 by now. Bryant is off to a fast start in his career as well. Well deserved for both.

now that the awards are over - free agency begins.

Yankees get 2 more picks. they got a ton now with all of their trades. wonder what they will do this off-season?

now the Jon Middleton has taken over the Phils and has majority control, i really hope he backs up all his talk with some action. Howie Kendrick is not making me tingle in my boots for 2017! He has the money - spend it!
