that tops any game 7 in my lifetime of 44 yrs. It tops the 1991 WS. It tops the 94 Cup Finals. It tops any Super Bowl. It tops them all.
That really was something else. Not the best baseball I've ever seen, kinda sloppy at times, but holy crap, it sure didn't lack for drama. Congrats, Cubs fans. You guys deserve this.
Now that the Cubs won, what will Joe Buck talk about now? haha. He's all out of billy goats and curses...lol
I still say '91 was better. Like El Conq said, that was a sloppy-ass game...errors in the field, errors on the bases, a WP that scored 2(!) runs, Baez' pathetic bunt attempt, etc., etc. I mean...Mike Montgomery vs. Mike Martinez for the last AB? Blech. The drama was just heightened last night because of the history of the teams involved. As just purely a baseball game, that was a shit show to watch. But it was great theater, for sure.

Yes im late make any comments on the game but hey what are you going to do lol Is it me or watching the Cubs game did it seem like Maddon was doing everything he could to give the game to the Indians? I mean in the end the Cubs won and he gets to just say we won when asked any question he doesnt want to answer but the feel to me was he over managed and fell into a win. Also has there ever been a worse at bat than Heward in the last inning?
well he didnt need to use him in game 6. and bc of a must win situation, he pitched longer than usual in game 5. with needing to go to 7 games, not sure what he was thinking in allowing him to pitch in game 6? doesn't matter now, but he almost cost them the title.
Exactly like what we talked about before that game...G6 was just as much of a must-win as G5 had been, and he didn't trust the other guys to get him through. A 5 run lead in an elimination game is like a 1 run lead in a regular game. If you wanted to quibble with him maybe being too quick with the hook for Hendricks after one walk, or sticking with Chapman when he was clearly out of gas after the first few pitches in G7, I could see that. But using his best reliever to protect a lead at a critical junction in an elimination game? No, I can't argue with that one...if he had used the other guys and CLE had come back against them and won G6, guess what he'd be getting killed for?
Shockah!* The Diamondbacks will hire Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo as their new manager, reports John Gambodoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM in Phoenix *no, not really
Cubs parade is today. All my college friends from Chicago who bleed Cub blue did not attend. I don't get that. Part of winning the title is going to the parade. When the 08 Phils won, I was living 5 blocks from the stadium and could see it everyday. the title is for the players. i wanted that parade as a fan. i walked 3 blocks to the corner of Broad St and Bigler St with a backpack full of beer and waited 2 hrs as the floats came down. they came and went and that alone was the best 10 min of my life seeing it. i don't get why my buddies didn't go. they didn't go for any blackhawk parades either. im baffled by that.
